15 Tasting Notes
Brews up a delicate yellowy orange. Smells of a flowers dipped in peppermint in the bag.. the tea itself brews up much more floral, with almost a peppery note.
The flavor is mellow. Very floral, and the peppermint takes a backseat to the bouquet on my tongue.
Preparation
The scent of mango filled my room as this pot brewed. My first sip was floral, with definite mango flavors. A second sip gives a mellow tea upon hitting the tongue, followed by fruity flavors and the promising mango after taste. It’s not in your face mango like the dry tea can come off as, but pleasant. A very invigorating tea.
Preparation
Brewed up a very pale yellow green, smells of yummy roasted coconut and oolong, with a faint overtone of dustiness (not sure where I’m getting that from, but I’m super sensitive to the smell of dust, so it may just be me?)
First infusion:
Fore flavors: Vegetable, slightly nutty and sweet. In the aftertaste the roasted coconut comes out. The oolong is delicious and isn’t bitter at all (an issue I had with Spice and Tea Exchange’s coconut oolong). That dust thing I mentioned initially isn’t coming out at all in the taste, which is excellent.
I’m going to try more infusions of the tea, and will update this with those :)
Preparation
This is one of my favorite teas right now.. Brews up into a lovely bright green. Smells of delicious ripe strawberries, though the strawberry flavor itself is mellow and I find most of it to be in the aftertaste. Just a very pleasant tea.
Preparation
Oh man, this stuff smells PHENOMENAL! The taste is mellowed, but still a nice juicy peach flavor. Naturally sweet. Came up as a very light yellow.. Delicious. Definitely enjoying this tea.
ETA: It’s really important that you have the right temperature on this or all you’re going to get is lemon peel flavor. Bleh.
Preparation
Nice rich amber color, yummy fruity smell. A small sip reveals a naturally sweet flavor. A bigger sip gives the peppery flavor, with a lingering burn on the tongue (It’s not hot, but.. tingly?). Not finding any bitterness. This is a fascinating tea.
(Unintentionally stepped longer than 5mins because of distracting cute kitten)
Preparation
Awwww cute kitten! Just wait, when it gets older it will distract you by being cute AND naughty. My two do anyway… :)
Oh dear, he’s already a trouble maker.. does that mean it’s just going to get worse?! I can’t stay mad at him though, he’s just too darn cute ;)
Yeah, that’s our problem too. It’s impossible. :p Ours have recently, evidently, worked out how to open the kitchen drawers. Came home yesterday and discovered that there all of a sudden wasn’t a single cat treat in the house. Half a bag of fishy treats and most of a box of yeast tablets… Luckily it seems like we’ve avoided any resulting tummy aches.
First steep (175F for 3:00): very pale in color, the scent is mellow. The tea is incredibly smooth, no bitterness. The flavor is mild but pleasant, delicately floral and ever so slightly sweet. A perfect comfort tea.
Second steep: 180F for 3:30 minutes. Darker in color, the pearls have started fully expanding in their mesh bag. The floral scent has become a bit more bold, the earthy tastes have come out on this steeping along with bitterness. I enjoyed the first cup much more.
Third steep: 175F for 4:00 minutes. Lighter in color than the 2nd but darker than the first. This is more similar to the first cup, with a mellow flavor and scent. Very pleasant.
