28 Tasting Notes
I found this on the end of summer clearance shelf at the grocery store for $4.79. At that price I couldn’t resist the draw of watermelon even though I don’t usually buy bagged tea. I liked it, but it is a bit candyish and the melon has a strong after taste. If I saw it on sale I’d buy it again.
Preparation
This is the first rose tea I’ve had and I’m not that familiar with white tea either. It was drinkable, but bland. Looking at the info here at the bottom of the page I see why. The instructions call for 1 tablespoon per cup! One tea bag to a cup is weak, nearly tasteless.
Wow, shockingly sour! I was expecting a little bit of bright citrus in the background, but this was like drinking lime juice. Every sip made my mouth flood with saliva. There is also a musty, mushroom-ness (dry desert) about it. Not terrible, but not what I want either.
Preparation
If steeped for a short time, you get a nice chocolaty cup of tea, but the longer it steeps more pu erh weirdness comes out, giving you a dank, musty taste. I usually steep tea for the longest recommended time for the type of leaf because I prefer strong tea, but I brew this one for only 4 minutes at most.
