335 Tasting Notes
I am a brisk, strong, larged flavored black tea lover. I was won over by the reviews of no astringency. This tea is that, my friend. It has the biggest leaf cut of any Assam I have ever had. I think that might be why there’s no puckering.
I bought a sample, and have drank the whole sample within 2 hours (I am also studying for finals, I need my fuel). This tea is yum.
This isn’t your typical Assam at all. I almost thought it was more similar to some of the Ceylons I’ve had. Still strong in flavor, and 2 tsp is needed per cup. I would purchase this again. I really think Assam tea companies need to follow suit, and not cut up the leaf so much. This was a really pleasant cup.

I have been on a quest to try all different types of teas from elsewhere. What-cha fills in the need. This is my first Georgian tea. It has NO BITTERNESS. I feel you need 2 FULL tsp per 8 oz. I like my brew strong, so this is what I did. It’s mellow for a black, more mellow than what I usually drink or am used to.
Beautiful leaves. Just good for a mellow kind of day.
Preparation
I was running low on Den’s pineapple sencha, and checked the site. Saw it was Yuzu Kukicha season, so I got a pound of this instead. I had some last year, and regret not buying more. This is such a great everyday tea. Bright, charming, full of flavor, light sweetness, SO GREEN! The yuzu is very light in the background. I love drinking this iced to start the day, or have midday. I think I prefer the pineapple just a little bit more, BUT this is still up there. I do get a savory seaweedy element to it. I like it. I see this going well with seafood, sushi, or crab. Second brew isn’t as flavorful, or as green.
This was included as a sample in my order. I have had bancha in the past, and always hated it. It was bland and bitter. I just assumed this would follow suit. Not so! This tea was a huge surprise. It was greener than I was expecting a bancha to be. Really fresh smell.
I love this tea. It’s a shame it’s just a sample. Brewed up nicely as instructed with boiling water for 30 seconds. The second brew wasn’t as strong, prefer the first brew. This is for sure an everyday tea I could see myself drinking. So yummy, depth of flavor. Buttered spinach. Light astringency. Will buy more of this tea.

I got this since I thought I liked floral tea. After having many of Mariage Freres teas, I think I don’t. This tea is really overpowering of violet (given the name, duh!). It makes for an ok iced tea. I don’t like it hot, too much. I think it might make a nice milk tea. I think buying 50g of this tea is ok, I got 100g, it’s just a bit too much.
Flavors: Floral, Violet
I love love their Paris Breakfast. It’s a well put together tea. American Breakfast? It’s just not for me. I see this as a stepping stone for a coffee drinker trying to convert to black tea. It’s caramel flavoring came off fake, and too much of it. It’s a ok tea, I’ll drink the rest up with no issue, just don’t love it.
Flavors: Caramel
This tea is visually just beautiful in the picture, but the product I got looks nothing like this. I found this tea just ok. I wouldn’t buy it again. It’s just rooibos with just light flavoring for floral. I am been disappointed with a lot of the rooibos blends I got from them. They all taste very familiar with no defining difference. The flavor of citrus isn’t really present without knowing it.
Preparation
I think this tea would be heighten if there was some black currant flavor. This is a decent herbal, flowery rooibos. Nice amount of lavender. I prefer this iced at night.
Flavors: Berry, Lavender, Rose

The description of this tea sounded delicious. Red tea flavored with flowers and fruits from distant land…oh my! It is really good red tea, I’ll give them that. But that all it tastes like. I can’t even really pick up any of the dried flowers that should flavor this tisane.
It is really good red tea, that’s why I am giving it a 60 rating…it’s mellow, not woodsy. But that is all it is. It’s not what it is labeled. It’s a shame…it is a beautiful tea visually when dried, speckled with all types of flowers!!!!
Flavors: Rooibos
TeaGschwender has two types of Midsummer teas. They were out of the other one (which seems to be more strictly floral).
I am glad they have this one! It’s a light brew (it’s black and green tea blend). To me, it’s the tea you always hope you get at a brunch or breakfast spot that has iced black currant tea on the menu. There isn’t black currants in the tea, but it’s still has that tart berry presence ( from the cranberries in the blend).
It’s very refreshing, lush, and doesn’t have anything artificial tasting about it, which is a huge perk. I hate having fruity teas were it tastes like oily chemicals are the dominant flavor. Also, this tea has a nice floral note. (I always loved teas with cornflower, not only for the color, but cornflower are suppose to have health benefits)
