I haven’t had this one in a while, and I’m happy to say that I still like it. I hope I never get over being happy because of sparkly things. It’s the little girl inside me.

I have been re-drinking a lot of things lately and not posting reviews, I’m sorry! What usually happens is I go upstairs to make tea and I just have my iPad with me, and I hate typing long things on the iPad. Our house is a bit unusual in that the kitchen, dining room, bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the ground floor, then the great room, offices, laundry, storage and another bathroom are underground. So now I’m at my desk, with my computer, but on a different floor than my kitchen. The next house won’t have stairs, I have vowed.

So anyway, tea, reviews, stairs, iPad, blah blah. A lot has happened in the past week. We adopted a cat: http://imgur.com/D7s6Moy HIs name is Prince Pudding. It was really sort of sweet, we wanted a Ragdoll specifically, and I found one that was listed at the shelter one town over. So we went there, and when we got there he was in one of the “get acquainted” rooms with an older lady and we were SO SAD.

Then she motioned for us to come in, and she was the previous owner! She is going into assisted living and since she took him to the shelter, she has been going back every day to see if he was out for showing and to meet people to help find a good family for him. It was really heart warming. We spent about 45 minutes with her and with him, and it’s just the absolute right fit. You know she loved him a lot if she didn’t just drop him off and leave him. He had been at the shelter since the 2nd but the first day they put him out was the 8th, and we adopted him on the 9th. So there you go!

Awwww! What a nice story :)

Thank you so much, Marizipan, for adopting this cat in need! It’s so sad that her previous owner had to leave her, but it’s very sweet that she kept coming to visit every day. (I have tears in my eyes.) She obviously loves Prince Pudding, and I hope very much that he really fits in with your family.

Well there’s actually a little bit more. We went ahead and adopted him, but we are letting him stay with her for two more weeks so she can have more time to say goodbye before she moves into the assisted living place. It’s also when my daughter will graduate high school and have more time at home, so it feels like a very sweet and loving transition for him, and the prior owner is thrilled.

What a wonderful story. For you guys, the kitty cat, the former owner, your daughter. This is lovely.

Oh, that is so lovely. I have 2 cats and I can’t imagine giving them up for anything – it’s so wonderful that you were able to meet the previous owner, and that you’re able to give Prince Pudding (eeee!) a smooth transition.

Angrboda

Oh he’s sweet! I hope he makes the transistion to his new home easily. As I understand some cats can get a bit stressed by it, causing some irregularities in toilet habits. Perhaps you can send the old lady pictures/postcards now and then, so she can see that her cat is well taken care of?

Marzipan

I love that idea!

I have a cat that I adopted for someone else when her son turned out to be deathly allergic (multiple ER visits and hospital stays in a year). In fact, he’s the cat in my profile picture. Anyway, I send them regular updates and pictures on how he is doing.

Bio

Mom of two practically grown girls, extremely happily married to a man who is amused by my obsession with tea, and company owner who works from home. Life is good.

Likes/dislikes: I love black teas, especially strong/malty ones. I am ok with flavored teas if the base is strong. I like some whites. I really don’t like any tea that tastes “green” – if I wanted to drink something that tastes like green beans, I would cook some green beans. I am not big on green teas or genmaichas. I am learning to like puerhs.

If we are trading, I have a STRONG aversion to coconut, banana and licorice. I love citrus, vanilla and spice. Not a fan of florals.
