A good everyday green tea that’s a nice balance between vegetal and floral. Slightly astringent and good for multiple infusions.

drank Wild Black Yunnan by DAVIDsTEA

Well last cup of my hoarded stash of this tea. A nice strong cup for first thing in the morning. Smooth, malty with hints of tobacco and no bitterness even if you steep it strong. It’s shame that a nice everyday Yunnan like this isn’t a standard for Davids tea as it’s a great first cup of the day type tea. Good for multiple steeps.

Boiling 3 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 15 OZ / 443 ML

This is a wonderful tea. It has a good bit of depth for a white tea. Smooth with a honeyed lightly floral taste. Smells sweet while steeping. Good for multiple infusions with a tiny bit of astringency creeping in on later infusions. The cute little ‘cookies’ unfurl to nice big leaves. This is one of my favorites that I have tried from Adagio. Only 2 minutes on the first infusion, 3 for all others. (2 mins @ 180°F) 1 cookie per mug.

drank AMA DABLAM WHITE by Tea Runners

A wonderful white that is lightly vegetable with prominent floral notes and a sugar, candy like note when you swallow which is quite appealing. Very light and mild, a tea you could drink all day. I would have rated even higher but it is a little bit drying/ astringent which is not my preference. It’s still a wonderful tea though and worth the purchase.

Flavors: Candy, Floral, Vegetal

drank Wuyi Ensemble by Adagio Teas

A very nice Oolong thats deep, toasted/smoky, earthy and lightly honeyed. Lightly floral noted appear as the smokiness lessens in subsequent infusions. Not as toasted/smoky as a lapsang souchong or a genmai cha. Great for multiple steeps. Adagio version is actually very good. One of their better teas.

Good slightly above average Ti Kuan Yin. Heavily floral with a 3 minute second steep actually being the tastiest cup. Great value as its good for many steeps, increasing the steep time with each cup.

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 2 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 15 OZ / 443 ML

Amazing tea that was a surprise at the first sip. The kind of tea that makes you say wow. Flavorful mellow low tannin no astringency or bitterness tea with forward flavor notes of yam and brown sugar. Not hidden in the back notes but right in your face notes. So much so that you might be confused and think this is a flavored tea, some companies Fall blend, but it’s not. Absolutely delicious.
Second infusion pushes the yam notes to the back and lessens the brown sugar notes significantly but is still a good cup of black tea. Will hopefully be for sale on their website by the end of September 2020.

Brewed as directed for first cup and feel that the suggestion was to long a steep. It made for first cup that tasted rather green for a roasted Oolong with a faint hint of bitterness/sour. Using the same timing for the second steep produced a much more flavorful cup with the “brown” floral taste one expects from an Oolong of this type. A bit astringent and “dry” but tasty. These leaves are good for 4 steeps.

drank Coffee Cake by DAVIDsTEA

A favorite I hoard as it is discontinued. A warm cake like flavor with slight caramel/maple notes. It’s a flavor that’s hard to describe but it’s one of the few flavored teas I really love.

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML
