4843 Tasting Notes
Backlog:
I’m not always a big fan of rooibos blends but this one is a winner for me. It has a lovely contrast between cool, crisp mint and warm spice.
Zesty cinnamon, refreshing mint notes from peppermint and spearmint, licorice notes from the anise, and a warm, peppery flavor from the ginger. The rooibos isn’t a strong, obvious flavor and I like that.

Backlog:
A really good Earl Grey Creme. A nice balance between black tea, bergamot and vanilla cream flavors. Silky, creamy, sweet, with just the right amount of tangy.

I have said it before, but I’ll say it again. I simply love Teavivre. They have some of the very finest teas that can be found anywhere.

Oh yum! Seriously … yum!
I love maple and marshmallow and I love the idea of these two flavors together but I wasn’t too sure about it iced. I’m much more a fan of hot tea and when I saw this tea, I thought, wow, that’d be awesome. Then I thought, why didn’t he make this into a hot tea instead of an iced tea.
But it works as an iced tea too. Quite splendidly, really. This contends with some of the other favorites that I have from SBT: specifically the Lime Cola and the Lime Jello … I actually think I might like this one better.

I really enjoyed this Moroccan Mint that I received in the Wintertime sampler from M&K’s. It was just different enough to spark my interest – it’s not your typical Moroccan Mint!
This isn’t just peppermint, it’s peppermint and spearmint, and to add a hint of lemon-y flavor, M&K’s added some Lemon Verbena to the mix. It doesn’t add a really strong lemon-y note, but just enough of something that will make your taste buds sit up and take notice and realize that this isn’t the average Moroccan Mint blend.

I will miss this tea. I love the spicy flavor, I love the black tea base. I love the way the cinnamon, chocolate and chili pepper are balanced. This was a brilliant blend. Yet another reason to miss Butiki Teas!

A really lovely white Darjeeling. Then again, I love White Darjeeling teas! Probably among my favorite white teas because I love the stronger flavor they offer. It’s still a delicate flavor, but not as delicate as you might usually expect from a white tea. It has a very pleasant, thick mouthfeel, with floral notes and notes of melon and sweet grape. There’s also a nice honey-like flavor to this tea.
Later infusions offered a softer honey flavor and brought forward some nutty flavors and more of a wine-like taste. I could taste a more distinct floral note.

I enjoyed this blend. It’s sweet with notes of orange, lemon and lime. There is a hint of creaminess to it too and I enjoyed how the creaminess melded with the citrus notes. If I’m to offer any kind of criticism about this particular tisane, it would be that I would have liked for the citrus notes to be a bit stronger, but as it was, I found it quite refreshing.
A nice ‘wake up’ tisane.

This tea was odd for me because I found that I liked it better “room temperature” than served cold out of the fridge. I found that the flavor delivery was stronger when I let the tea sit on the counter for about an hour to lose the chill before I started drinking it. When it was cold, I found it difficult to discern the peach and creamy vanilla notes. I tasted the sweet, buttery flavor of the green tea just fine, but the flavors didn’t really shine through the way I had hoped they would.
Until it lost the chill, that is. Then when it became more ‘room temperature’ I found the peach and cream flavors popped.

The teas in that box are yum!
This tea had a very crisp, minty flavor. It has a bit more mint than chocolate and you know me, I’d be happier if it were the other way around. That said, this is still a really good tea. The black tea base is a solid, robust black tea. It’s nicely round and complements the mint and chocolate notes favorably. It’s a deep, rich, dark chocolate flavor and I like how it goes with the cool mint.
