18 Tasting Notes
The most common problem with fruit green teas is the green tea easily and quickly overpowers the fruit that its with. That is unfortunately the case for this tea as well. The mango and peach don’t really stand out although the flavors are there. It wasn’t my favorite tea but it’s not horrible tea. It’s a nice bright tea that give you a boost but if you’re looking to buy and amazing fruit green tea this is not it.
Flavors: Bitter, Lemongrass, Mango, Peach
Preparation
This tea gets really strong very fast. The pieces are really small so you can add too much tea very easily. However if you get the amount right this tea is very bright and very sweet. It creates a wonderful bright red tea and I usuall cut it with a white tea as it can be a bit over powering. This tea is one of my favorite hibiscus flavor no doubt.
Flavors: Berry, Cranberry, Hibiscus, Spices
Preparation
This is your basic mint tea. Not too fancy and not too boring. It doesn’t fall short as a mint tea but it falls short as a TeaForte tea in my opinion. I was expecting more body and more flavor but there’s not much room for change with tea. You don’t get a richer flavor the longer you steep it. What you get is what you get. It also doesn’t blend well with any other tea.
Flavors: Mint, Spearmint
Preparation
Darjeeling teas are my father’s favorit teas. He usually prefer the western flavors like this. I decided to try this as luckily it came in yet another tasting set and had some free time over the break. I don’t like the black tea this is made with. It’s very bitter and has almost a metallic after taste. I’m also not a big fan of the floral notes in these tea I feel like I’m drowning in flowers.
Flavors: Floral
Preparation
This is such a bright and fun tea. The black tea keeps it’s warmth but the orange flavor really brightens your mood. I drink this tea as a mid afternoon pick me up for a bit of caffeine and motivation to continue with my work. I pair this tea with light buttered pastries and the natural sweetness and citrus flavor cuts the heavy flavor of my treats.
Flavors: Citrus, Orange, Orange Zest, Spices
Preparation
This tea is so very heavy. The flavors are overpowering and even adding milk doesn’t make this very enjoyable. The peach flavor is weak at best and the odd licorice type flavor is off putting. I got this to replace a giner tea that I used to use to detox but it’s not very good. I find myself adding so much sugar whenever I drink it it’s not an enjoyable experience at well.
Flavors: Licorice, Peach, Spices
Preparation
Since I’ve bought this tea its become my nightly ritual. It has a nice calming chamomile flavor and the citron is bright enough to lighten your mood. I always cut this with my white tea as the tea itself has no actual tea leaves and lack body but all in all the flavor is addicting. It turns a beautiful pink color because of the buds and it’s fruit but not overpowering. This tea works well unsweeted and with honey which means my whole family can enjoy it.
Flavors: Citrus, Honey, Sweet
Preparation
I tried this tea because it came with a tea taster package. However I knew before that I’m not a big fan of jasmine flavor and despite my love for TeaForte’s teas this one didn’t make me like it any better. The green tea flavor was nice nutty and rich and the jasmine tasted like jasmine. This isn’t my cup of tea however the tea it self was very good quality and my mother loves it.
Flavors: Green, Jasmine, Nutty
Preparation
This is my mother’s favorite tea personally the flavor falls flat. It takes like grassy lemon water. No matter how long you steep it the tea flavor doesn’t get any stronger. The matcha is stuck in the bag and it doesn’t mix completely in with the tea. All in all this tea was not the best.
Flavors: Bitter, Ginger, Grass
Preparation
First I’d like to say that I’m not sure if this was the exact tea I tried but it looks pretty close. When my aunt heard I was in a tea class she brought me a puer tea her friend gave her as a souvenir. She didn’t know if there was a fancy way to prepare it so had just been holding onto it for years. This, like a similar puer tea I tried in class a week or so before is definitely not my favorite. It has an earthy flavor that isn’t the most appealing to me. It’s like dirt honestly.
Flavors: Earth, Wet Earth, Wet Rocks
