18 Tasting Notes
This is the perfect tea to wake you up in the morning. It’s lightly caffenieted but doesn’t make you jitter or feel like you’re on a sugar high like coffee does. It’s something that you can enjoy and start yourday without having to be shocked away. It does take a bit longer to brew than regular the teas but it’s worth the wait. For this tea I do add a pinch of salt and honey as it does tend to have a grassy bitterness.
Flavors: Buffalo Grass, Citrusy, Peppermint

Because of my class I have fallen out of love with bagged teas but this is a tea I’ll never let go. I prepare this like thai milk tea and a warm hug. You still get the sharpness of the black tea but the soothing warmth of the cinnamon and flavor mixes well with it. I’ve drank this tea as a simple cup the first time to make sure the tea itself isn’t too underwhelming for milk tea and it is kind of overwhelming without cream or milk. All in all though this is one of my go to chai flavors when I need to lay back and relax.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Clove, Honey, Nutmeg, Spices, Vanilla
Preparation
SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!! I absolutely love this white tea. It works well by itself and when I blend it with my other floral and fruit teas. It’s not overwhelming and it’s just a warm flavor. I steep this for a shorter time when I need I want a mild flavor and longer for a richer flavor. If I’m mixing it with fruit teas I’ll always steep it for at least two minutes.
Flavors: Nutty, Sweet, Warm Grass

I don’t want to say I don’t like Earl Grey tea because there’s so many different brands I have yet to try but this is the 4th one or so I’ve tried and I still don’t like Earl Grey tea. The black tea is so very bitter and has a weird after taste that I just can’t wrap my head around. I gave the cup I made to my father and he loved it so I’ll give this good ratings. But I’m definitely not an earl grey fan.
Flavors: Lemon
Preparation
I love how smooth and soothing this tea is. I got it in a tasting trio and now I’m almost out. It doesn’t take much for an 8 ounce cup. This tea works really well with honey and cuts the weird aftertaste I usually hate with honey. The only problem is the tea is kind of light. There isn’t actually any teal leaves in the tea so I cut it with my own white tea to give it some body.
Flavors: Ginger, Lemongrass, Mint
Preparation
This was my first loose leaf tea and it’s sadly unimpressive. The black tea is very bitter and doesn’t have much body and the coconut is overpowered by the other spices in the flavor. I felt like I was drinking more of a diluted black tea with cinnamon water no matter how long I steeped it. All in all it’s not really worth the price and many chai flavored bagged teas are better than it.
Flavors: Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg
Preparation
It should be known first that I’ve had matcha flavored things many times before and haven’t really enjoyed the experience. I’ve come to realize that maybe it’s me and not the type of item I’ve eaten.
For my class I’ve decided to make a real cup of green tea, I asked the owner of the shop from where I purchased my matcha powder the best way to prepare my tea. Armed with my new tin of powder and insightful tips and tricks I went home prepared my tea. I tried three, the first time I don’t think the water was hot enough by the time it had gotten “frothy” my tea was barely warm and just tasted like grass juice. The second time I got the signature matcha flavor that we all “know and love” but still I couldn’t love it. Finally I rememered the one time I like the matcha flavor was in a bingsu dessert sweetened with sweetened condensed milk. I prepared it this way and it was better but still not my cup of tea. All in all I don’t believe this tea is poor in quality I just don’t like matcha flavor.
