drank Chai Black Tea by Harris Teeter

This tea…it will be odd at first! It has black pepper, resulting in an odd peppery taste – it may grow on you. The pepper manifests as an aftertaste, blending with the Cardamom, Ginger, and Cinnamon. This tea is cheap….and it tastes decent. I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone wanting something different (it was my first encounter to tea with black pepper in it)

Flavors: Peppercorn

This tea can be summarized in one word:

ORANGE

It has actual bits of orange rind in the bag. Its a decent tea, noting too special..the blend of spices is not overpowering.

Flavors: Orange Zest

Its robust…its dark…its black (actually when its brewing, it looks blood-orange). I like it best with Milk and Sugar. Without milk, its flavor can be a bit overpowering.

I have also had PG Tips and Yorkshire Gold has a better flavor – its richer, its more complex.

drank Nilgiri Select Black Tea by Wegmans

It is a very light black tea, mellow in flavor, but at the same time it has an oddly earthy flavor. Its different.

Its also cheap. Why not give it a try? I normally have it with 1 teaspoon of sugar, or just plain.

drank Organic Bold Leaf Pu-erh by Wegmans

The first tea I tried that I absolutely hated – even rinsing the leaves and discarding the first infusion.

The flavor is terrible and will make you wince. I got exited about Pu Erh, but this has totally turned me off of it. Trust me, this Wegmans “Bold Leaf” Pu Erh will make you go
Puuuu ERRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH

Bad puerh is really baaaaaaaad. If it is fishy, let it air out a while and then try it with a super short steep and see if that helps, maybe. Good puerh has converted many a non-tea drinker to tea in my house.

drank Raspberry Royale by Bigelow

Its the only bagged raspberry tea I have found locally. Unfortunately, some of the flavoring is artificial. Regardless, it does taste like raspberries. Do not drink this without sugar – the artificial flavorings will not work out and will taste disgusting! It needs at least two teaspoons of sugar in a large cup.

I am a nut of iced raspberry tea…so I logically enjoy it hot as well. If you like raspberry tea…this is for you!

drank Earl Grey by Stash Tea
19 tasting notes

Well, I have a LOT of experience with this Earl Grey, Its the tea that I had every morning at my college cafe (where the guy who works there would say in a strong unknown accent “My freind, you want da Earle Grey Tee!?”), powering me through horribly long days of studying and dealing with incompetent professors.

For starters you can taste the Oil of Bergamot in this tea – the whole point of Earl Grey.
The flavor is smooth and perfectly complemented with a little bit of sugar. Brew it for a LONG time and it will be strong. Even the non-tea people I know liked this tea!

While I had a good year with this tea, it seems that recent batches have gone downhill in quality with an off-chemical taste. I have no idea why this is but the bags at the Cafe, as well as the most recent box I bought at a local grocery store taste wrong in comparison to the previous hundreds of cups I have had. So, I must forewarn you, try this tea at your own risk – perhaps its back to the way it was a few months ago (and if it is, its worth a try. But due to this, I cant recommend it)

drank Masala Chai by Wegmans
19 tasting notes

This Masala Chai is not too strong or spicy – it does have plenty of cardamom in it. Great with a little bit of milk.

I am yet to be exposed to proper Indian Masala Chai though…so take that as it is. My only other experience would be bagged “Masala Chai”
