6 Tasting Notes
I love that I can just leave the tea bag in and it never gets bitter. The licorice builds and is very soothing on the throat, and combined with the Rooibos, doesn’t need a lick of honey. I’m surprised how much I love this tea, as it took me ages to try because I found the smell too heady. I really look forward to drinking this before bed.
Preparation
I had a tall Vanilla Rooibos Tea Latte from Starbucks today. I only asked for 1/3 milk and half the sweetener, but I think I could pass completely on the sugar it would still have a subtle sweetness. It reminded me so much of apple pie, I think I’ll make myself a cup next time I have a light night sweet craving.
Preparation
With a nod to the name, I decided to make a tea latte with this. I like my tea lattes delicately flavored, so i steeped only two tsp in half a mug of water before finishing with with steamed milk and a touch of honey. I really enjoyed the combination of vanilla, cocoa, and nuttiness, and found they had the added benefit of tasting well as the tea continued to cool. Looking forward to trying this with an extra scoop of tea, and with water alone.
Preparation
I love Jasmine green tea, but the smell of this tea is overwhelmingly floral, in an artificial sense. I’d much prefer a more subtle jasmine that allows me to actually enjoy the green tea. It does tone down a bit once actually steeped, and I will finish the box, but I know there’s better out there. At least it’s cheap, and I don’t find it to be bitter. A good option to ice, I think.
