I like this. Added a splash of half and half with a little sugar, and it’s perfect. Smokier, but also definitely sweet on its own. I wanted more of a dessert tea anyway, so this is exactly what I wanted. Trying to ease back into tea.

Just trying different steeping times, don’t mind me. Actually, I think I prefer this steeping time, there’s more flavor to it. Even more Froot Loops though. Mmmm, drinking cereal.

So, I got a pound of this tea for a birthday present by someone who isn’t particularly into tea, so major kudos to him. First thing I do with new tea is look up what people have said on here, and funny enough, what people didn’t like about this tea is what I love! Yes, this tea is VERY heavily bergamot, both in taste and smell, and so if you don’t like bergamot, I would not recommend this tea. But! If you’re like me and you love absolutely anything bergamot (most amazing candy I ever had was bergamot salt water taffy), this tea would be perfect for you. Also, I totally agree with the other poster who said it reminded them of Froot Loops. It really does.

For this steep time, I think it could’ve gone a bit longer without becoming bitter but adding more flavor.

Definitely smelling the grass that others have mentioned, but not as bad and in much more of that classic green tea way. I meant to steep it at boiling like the directions mentioned, but I got distracted so it’s steeping at 172 degrees right now. Oh well. I won’t lie, the smell of this tea just smells…bad. My first thought was rotten eggs, but I don’t want to go that far. I literally had to hold my nose to sip it. The taste is pretty grassy, but that nasty egg taste is lurking in the background. This is getting dumped.

So I already feel like I’m going to like this tea primarily because peppermint. I may or may not have a 2 pound bag of peppermint tea sitting next to me…

I swear I don’t have a problem.

Moving on, the smell of the unsteeped leaves mostly comes off as peppermint with a bit extra at the end that I can’t quite put my finger on but will most likely round out the tea well. The steeped liquid has that unrecognizable smell much more pronounced that creates a nice warmth of flavor but is cut by the sharp peppermint after…smell? Is after smell a word? It should be.

The taste is very heavily peppermint but more in a refreshing than sharp way and I believe that’s because it has other things than just peppermint that mellow it out. Overall, I like it for its mellow mintyness especially if I don’t want straight peppermint tea which can be overwhelming at times. But definitely not the best tea I’ve had.
