Whoop! Whoop!
Personally, the name of this tea just makes it for me. I didn’t really understand the name at first, but after I tried it, this tea just clicked for me.
At first, I was just sitting on my bed looking at tea reviews (lol) and I saw that DAVIDsTea had a new tea out. I didn’t question anything because it looked fruity and juicy so I asked my mother to go and get me twenty grams on her way home. As you all can see, I jumped into this tea blindly. When my mom came home that night, I literally jumped off the bed and ran to her!
My first sniff was such an eye opening moment. For me, it smelled very fruity medicinal, just like the cheap medicine that I used to take when I used to live with my grandmother (when my parents were still earning minimum wage) and we could only afford some cheaper things. Oh my goodness!!! Next time my grandma comes to visit me, I’m definitely going to give her some of this tea. The sniff was so reminiscent of my childhood in China. I remember when I was small and how happy my family was even though we didn’t have much. Anyways… Back to the tea! The smell was definitely fruity and medicinal (I’m just repeating myself now…) but not the type of aroma that is connoted with the term “medicinal.” This tea is what I would call “medicinal done right.”
My first sip was an additional layer onto the reminiscence of my childhood. Immediately I tasted the berry-apple base, followed by a light lingering goji and sea buckthorn flavor with a light floral note that blends very well with all the rest of the flavors.
My only complaint however, is that I feel that this tea was made to be iced (came out during summer, berry based, and THAT DEEP RUBY COLOR!!!) but I felt that the ice muted the teas flavors. Overall this tea blows me away.
