This matcha may be the best I’ve tried as of late (of about 5 blends.)
The Okumidori is quite balanced and offers a great experience for my morning matcha ritual.

Dry powder presents a light vegetal sweetness, and once married with hot water it opens up into wet freshly steamed edamame and baby spinach, reaching out to tingle the nose from your bowl.

The body is smooth and bright, but savory. Fresh greens on the tongue, with a savory and umami mouth feel/flavor in the middle of each sip. The edamame flashes back for a moment as a slight bitterness encroaches, adding to the already full sensory experience and beckoning the drinker to come back for more. When mixed properly, the foamy, stagnant head on this matcha will always leave you wishing there was more in the bowl.

On my birthday this year I overindulged a bit and had a session comparing three different matchas back to back to back. This one just takes the cake, hands down. Thank you Mr. Noike for making such a tantalizing option that outperforms its price. (around $1 per gram from Nio.)

90-100 Stellar, to be displayed proudly if shared with guests. Or just a tea that hits its mark well.
80-90 I enjoy this tea a lot, would purchase and drink it. Fine if it lives in the pantry
70-80 Above Average, would drink it and probably still buy if the mood struck me.
50-70 Average, I would still drink it when available.
0-50 I don’t care for this tea, and have no desire to care for it.
