58 Tasting Notes
I went into David’s today to buy their roasted walnut green (and did) but the sales person convinced me to get a cup of this to try. And I’m glad I did! If I hadn’t been set on the walnut green (since it’s more wintry to me), I might have bought this one instead.
It was a little sweeter than what I was looking for, though. Got a bit of that artificial cherry taste that’s common with almond, but I didn’t mind it. I didn’t think it was over powering at least. Maybe I’ll pick up some of this another time. :]
Sooooo glad I ordered this when it went on sale!! It’s my new favorite wintry peppermint tea. It’s not like, kick-you-in-the-face peppermint, like some teas can be. It’s much more subtle and the vanilla gives it a bit of sweetness. Maybe I should have bought the bigger bag.
Nutty earthy, maybe a little bit of coconut. I like how it works with the green, it seems pretty balanced to me. But what I love MOST is that this sample size from David’s has enough for 2 mugs of tea. Sometimes it’s enough for a cup plus a little extra. This one was the right amount so they get extra points for now.
I feel like my experience with this tea is way different that everyone else’s here. I don’t taste any cherry and it leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I wanted a Downton tea for so long because I love the show! But this one disappointed me. All I taste is bitter. :’(
Yummmm! Love this fruity green. I think it’s a pretty good balance between the tea base and the fruit flavor. Just by looking at it, you’d think it would be more apple-y than green but I like the balance. No sugar needed here, it’s pretty sweet and you don’t get that grassy flavor that green tea has.
This was the first tea I tried in the Book of Spells sample pack and man, what a let down. I love sweet, dessert rooibos teas but this was just blehh. I couldn’t decipher the flavors, just got a bit of chemical-ness and some kind of unpleasant after taste. I ended up dumping it. :( Such a shame because I usually love the teas from David’s!
Not a fan. Did I get a defective blend or something? Because I get no glitter in my cup, which is the main reason I got this tea in the first place. The picture here has the glitter pieces shown as a ball, but mine came in star shapes. Maybe they don’t punch out glitter as well. I thought I’d like it more in the fall because it has a spicy, orange taste, but I’m still just disappointed by the lack of sparkle. Boooo :(
I’m always pretty nervous when I purchase new tea from David’s. I feel like I’ll either love it or hate it. I got this one as a free 2oz I racked up from points and was happily surprised when I tried it. I’m all about the rooibos lately and this one seemed an obvious choice.
The smell is delectable, as per usual with David’s Teas. It’s not as sweet as I expected and tastes a bit more… vegetable-y, which I assume is the carrot and ginger notes. Probably won’t become a staple on my shelf but I will enjoy the bit of it that I have this fall.
