I’m doing a little happy dance, because I think my palate has evolved enough that I no longer need sweeteners or milk in teas to enjoy the flavours. Black teas, and especially earl greys, were impossible for me to drink without anything added to them (much to the despise of my british boyfriend).

It could be because this tea is meant to be a cream of earl grey, but I find it smooth with flavours so delicate that I wouldn’t dare add anything to it. It’s so comforting, especially when you want that nice hot cup of black tea. Earl grey’s have been my longest friend in my tea exploration, ever since I was a little girl, and this tea pays true homage to those memories and this spectacular flavour. If you’re a fan of EG, this is not a tea you should miss out on.

(Good for three steeps, cream flavour is gone by the last steep though.

Just barely drinkable. Too much hibiscus and too much cinnamon among a melange of unnoticeable fruits. For me, this one tastes exactly like it smells except more tart. I have 20 grams that I won’t be finishing.

Also, the sales associate told me they were phasing this one out so I didn’t really want to get attached to it in the first place.

I avoided this tea for so long. And I regret it!

I saw the pink in my friends cup, and since I’m not keen on berry tea, decided to stay away from it. Then I smelled it this morning, and it smelled like almond toffee! I had to try it.

Steeped it smelled like mini doughnuts. Tastes like weak mini doughnuts, spot on. Even the feeling of my mouth after swalling feels cake-y, like I’ve just eaten a mini doughnut. It loses points for the weakness, but this was a pleasant surprise. The hot pink colour is something I enjoy too.

Don’t sweeten this one though, I did thinking it would enhance the doughnut taste but it just made my cup taste like sugar water.

Undrinkable. This smelled really good in the bag, but brewed it tasted and smelled like sucking on a musty old couch. I can’t imagine who thought this was a good idea to make.

I love this tea.

I was writing a paper overnight, and this tea was my constant companion. It was perfect without anything added (it’s got sugar in it already in the crystals and gold balls) and so comforting when I was ripping out my hair at 3 AM.

Whenever I open the bag and get a whiff of it though, I don’t want to drink it. It smells artificial and gross. But steeped is it’s redeeming factor: it is warm and comforting, coyingly sweet and makes me feel like I’m cuddled up in bed.

This will be a staple in my cupboard.
