So I thought this would go PERFECTLY after dinner. The warm pumpkin spice flavors fit in with my salad and stuffed mushrooms. I used 3 tea bags instead of 2 for a pot. The pumpkin comes out a little bit more and it tastes like pumpkin pie. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm perfect :]

Thanks go to KallieBoo for this sample! I’m really excited to try this one. Hmmm… I steeped this one for a little over 5 minutes in boiling water. Naked, I’m not getting much other than rooibos… maybe a tiny bit of spice? Definitely no pumpkin, though. It doesn’t seem very strong at all, despite the long brewing time(for a bag, anyway). It’s got a strong rooibos smell after brewing, despite the distinct pumpkin-y spicy smell before. I’m also getting a bit of a sour taste in there, not pleasant. I guess this one is not for me.

First tea from the return of the Great Canadian TTB!

Having this one because I need a herbal as it is getting close to bed time. This is the first one I could find in the box. It is in tea bag form. It smells quite nice. Reminds me of store bought pumpkin pie, still delicious but not the same as homemade pumpkin pie. Definitely cinnamon and nutmeg smelling. I get a whiff of brown sugar every so often.

I am finding the taste to be quite flat. I am getting some sweetness but it is not bright, it is more of a dull sweetness. I get lots of cinnamon and some nutmeg. There is the slightest hint of pumpkin. There is a quite fleeting moment of astringency at the end of the sip but it disappears before you even know it is there. The brown sugar smell has morphed into the vanilla – I have never had Madagascar vanilla that I know of, but it seems like it would have a distinct taste. There is also a bit of medicinal rooibos taste.

I think this is a good herbal. A bit dull but I think I could have fancied it up with some cream and sugar.

I really wanted to like this. I realized AFTER I purchased it that it is ALL SPICE and NO PUMPKIN. GRRRR. There isn’t even any PUMPKIN in it!!!

Ysaurella

let’s say the name of the tea is quite confusing…anyone would expect pumpkin!

LiberTEAS

Yes, I would have thought it was pumpkin based upon the name as well.

Ellyn

I really wanted a caffeine free Pumpkin herbal. Oh well, I tried the trader joe’s version of a pumpkin herbal at a friends house and it was GREAT…but I’m not so sure I can smuggle more tea into my house…

Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes

Steeped Tea Smell: Pumpkin spice (but not pumpkin)
Flavor: Pumpkin spice not pump w/wood
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: After sweet wood

I had this tea at my mother’s, sorry I forgot to get pictures of the tea itself!

It was enjoyable, but I was expecting pumpkin pie, not pumpkin spice (despite the name). A nice rooibos, but nothing unique.

None of these ingredients are pumpkin. How can this taste and smell so much like pumpkin pie filling when there is no pumpkin involved? I don’t get it.

Delicious, and a great way to wind down after a very, very long day. Getting in the Halloween spirit!

By no means am I any sort of expert, but if it doesn’t actually contain pumpkin could it be because the other flavours are flavours you associate strongly with pumpkin and your brain is simply filling in the blank? Bit liek how we dno’t hvae any porbmels raednig txet taht is msseed up so lnog as the fsrit and lsat ltteer are in the rghit palce? (and if that last bit makes you go ‘huh???’, my point is totally lost… :p )

PeppermintPlant

Haha, that’s probably it. It’s really pumpkinny, though. I’m going to have to buy more because I have been carrying the tin around in my bag and drinking it everywhere.

Thanks to IrishBreakfastLass for this little tidbit! I was honestly expecting this to be a black tea, so much that I didn’t realize it was a rooibos until I was actually steeping it. It turned out to be an extremely pleasant surprise! There wasn’t much pumpkin flavor, I’ll be honest, but it wasn’t quite just a spice tea, either. It was somewhere in between. I’m quite okay with it not being a very pumpkin-y tea. The rooibos filled in some flavor where the pumpkin notes were missing, making it taste more like a pecan or walnut spice tea. Very delicious, and I will be looking out for this one to see if maybe I can snag some at a store somewhere!

It isn’t a bad tasting tea. The rooibos flavor is good for a tea bag, but it is definitely more “spice” than pumpkin. The lack of pumpkin flavor is incredibly disappointing.

I normally love pumpkin spice teas but this one is a pass. It has no flavor compared to other pumpkin spice teas I’ve tried.

If you like a bland subtle (almost to the point of no flavor), this is the tea for you. Otherwise stick to other brands that put out a higher quality blend.
