From Yunnan Sourcing

We are proud to offer a Certified Organic “Lasting Aroma” (余味) Ripe Pu-erh Tea from Yunnan. This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April 2017, and wet piled in the summer of 2017.

This is a blend of grade 1 and Te Ji ripened tea leaves blended together in a tippy recipe style. It is sweet, fruity, and floral with full-bodied long lasting taste and aroma. It can be infused many times more than most ripe pu-erhs! Cha Qi is very nice and reflects this tea’s pure origins.

The leaves used in this tea cake were harvested from organically cultivated tea pure assamica varietal tea bushes growing at an altitude 1300-1350 meters (4300-4450 feet) on summit of Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu’Er City). The tea is picked and processed into sun-dried mao cha, and then wet piled (wu dui) for 45 days, transforming it into ripe pu-erh tea (熟普洱).

250 Grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).

This is an excellent tea, organic or not. It is really mellow and strong, somewhat sweet, and very tasty. I love that it is certified organic, which I believe is not hype given that I trust the vendor. This is my favorite of the second bunch of 2018 ripes released from Yunnan Sourcing in recent months, and much better than the other organic ripes I’ve tried from YS. I like to support organic efforts in China, so I’m going to buy a lot of cakes.

Rich,
Which of YS’s certified-organic ripe puerh have you most enjoyed?
Thanks!

Rich

This one, for sure. I think their organic gong ting cakes get positive reviews on their website, but I haven’t tried them. Worth sampling their organic house ripes for sure. Happy sipping!

Thanks for the reply & suggestions. Alas, “Lasting Aroma” is NLA – No longer available. Any thoughts about: https://yunnansourcing.com/products/2017-yunnan-sourcing-classic-certified-organic-ripe-pu-erh-tea-cake
