From Yunnan Sourcing

Spring 2014 tea leaves (1 leaf to 1 bud) from Feng Qing area of Lincang were carefully hand-processed into this lovely tea. The tea brews up a golden yellow clear color with malt and chocolate flavors and aroma. A lovely tea both in taste and appearance!

“Gold Needle” tea features prominent buds and a robust malty flavor!

Really not a fan of this one. It tastes very strongly wood and almost smoky. The Imperial Gold Needle is FAR better.

Another one from Terri!
Soo at first I wasn’t so fond of this one. I started drinking it when it was still hot, and it mainly just tasted like wood, with a small hint of sweet potato in the background.
But as it cooled I started drinking it again, and the flavor changed.
A lot of the wood flavor was replaced by a sweet potato flavor. Was kinda weird. xD There was still that woody flavor present, but not like before!
This one ain’t bad when you drink it nearly lukewarm. xD
Probably wouldn’t buy this one, but soo glad I got to try it.
Thank you soo much, Terri! I am enjoying trying all these teas so much!! :D :D

i think i prefer the other variation on this theme from this morning. this one is less…just “less” the cup isn’t as strong and to me it’s lacking in the flavour that the other cup was. It’s still a nice cup, and i’m glad terri shared it with me but overall, i’d reach for the other YS tea before this one :)

Given the choice, I prefer the Imperial Gold Needle Yunnan over this one, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love this one as well. I enjoy them both. This one is a more masculine gold needle than the other, more robust, not as golden in appearance, but still beautiful, not honey sweet, but still quite delicious. It provides a very satisfying malty rich cup, with a dark chocolate undertone. And who doesn’t love malt & chocolate?

I’m headed out to see my hand surgeon…hoping to get the pins removed today…

Good luck!

I got my pins out!! I also went to the hand therapist & got a new splint, this one is meant to bend my finger @ a 90 degree angle down from the knuckle. (Previously it was bent at 70 degree). The old splint was on the palm side of my hand, the new on is across the back of my hand, going out over the pinky to hold it down.
After I got the splint I had to go back over to the Doctor again, & he did take the pins out, but my finger isn’t bent enough, so I have to work on bending it more tonight, & go get the splint redone tomorrow. (And it hurt SO BAD getting it bent this far). Thus is life.

Glad to hear the pins are out, I hope the pain tones down quick!
