This one is for us ladies….men, you should only buy it for the woman in your life.

I stumbled across this tea in my local Fairway. I have been wanting to try Yogi Teas as I read a few reviews on here & they were fairly good. So I saw this flavor & laughed. But then I actually read the label & decided to buy it.

Glad I did.

First off, it has a calming aroma about it during brewing. And there is a hint of a licorice flavor to it…which I liked.

So of course all the ladies & maybe even you guys want to know…did it help?
For me….YES! It definitely did. I felt relaxed & my cramps eased up. Maybe it was just my mind messing with me knowing this tea is labeled to help ease the cramps or maybe it’s the ingredients that actually work. But after one cup, I felt better.

I’m going to drink it again at the start of the next cycle. Maybe it will continue to work. I hope so.

If not, then I’m still going to drink it from time to time as I did enjoy the flavor.

Great review! I’m going to have to give it a try!

If my wife like tea the way that I do I would get her a box but I know she wouldn’t like it. Oh well. Good review Sunny!

I debated NOT reviewing this tea because, y’know, there’s a little TMI inherent in it. But I make a lot of use of this particular herbal blend, so it’s only fair. And I AM drinking it. The taste is very generically herbal- nothing much sweet in here, nothing much to take note of in general. I have noticed that this seems to help with my moodiness, cramps, and even a bit with the weird hormonal night sweats I have periodically gotten for years (gah). Give it a shot- it really does work best if you drink 2 cups a day for a couple of days.

I didn’t even know of the existence of this type of tea so maybe it’s good that you posted! The things I learn on Steepster! The other day, I learned of the existence of allergy-relief type tea, too!

Lisbet

Yeah basically it’s an efficient way to deliver medicinal herbs! So glad this one works.

How do I say, it makes me not strangle anyone, If I have a couple of cups of this on my worst day it makes me a much nicer, happier person. It is kind of a spicy tea (not spicy hot) lots of spices. It is the best to have with Aunt Flo

Haha pretty much any tea has the “makes me not strangle one” effect on me. Matcha and chai are best:) Glad this works for you- I’m very leary of hype or cure teas.

I use alot of traditional medicinals, My friend is an all organic eater and when his daughter has been at grandmas house and pumped full of candy and sweets he has her drink Nighty Night, it keeps her from having a restless and nightmare-ish night. It never fails if she has had a bunch of junk. (she is 6)

Dawn (life in a teacup)

Thats funny ;) I have been thinking about trying the “cure all” teas as well. thanks for the review.

I see a lot of people complaining about how the tea tastes, so I thought I’d add my two cents. Personally, I think it tastes delicious, kind of like the spices you put in pumpkin pie or gingerbread cookies.

I haven’t been using it long enough yet to make a meaningful commentary on its effectiveness, but I’m hopeful. This is the least painful first day of my period I’ve had in years, and I’ve only taken two ibuprofen pills, instead of the six I’d normally have taken by now. I feel good :).

there’s really two ways to rate this tea:

1. how it tastes.
2. how it works.

personally, i think this tea should be rated for how it works. it’s not a tea you buy for the taste, it’s a tea you get to help with cramps and other lady problems when you’re on your period. and if i’m to rate on its medicinal value, i rate this tea really high! it’s fast acting, effective, and good at getting rid of and keeping rid of cramps. it doesn’t even need to be that strong. really, what else could you ask for??

well, i guess we could ask for it to be a little bit better tasting, but i’m not complaining! the taste isn’t really bad, it’s almost like a soup broth with a celery taste. but definitely worth swallowing considering the benefits that come with it.

i’ll probably be buying this on the regular from now on. i like the idea of not having to take painkillers for my more mild cramps with this around! definitely worth a try!

I tried this the other day. It has a pleasant flavor, like a mild, gingery chai, and it seemed to help a bit with my cramps. I have noticed in the past that ginger helps with that for me. This is one I may pick up on occasion.

KiwiDelight

Plain hibiscus helps me. I haven’t yet tried ginger.

rosebudmelissa

Does it? I hadn’t heard that it could. I’ll keep that in mind to try next time.

KiwiDelight

Yeah, up to a certain point. It’s known for being rich in Vitamin C. But when my cramps hurt so badly that I have to take Acetaminophen.

Anyway, I drink hibiscus iced since the cold curbs the tartness.

rosebudmelissa

I enjoy the tartness of hibiscus, so I’ll have to try it next time. I do take painkillers if they get too bad, but sometimes it’s just uncomfortable, and I try not to take painkillers unless I’m actually in pain.

I’m smitten. This tea does it’s thing, and it does it well. I have been drinking for about 4 months now and I really believe it is a game changer (for my body at least!). I drink it sporadically for about a week before, and a bit during, and it helps astoundingly. Mood swings, better. Cramps, 100% better. General period time, so much better. I’m extremely satisfied with this tea.

As for taste, I truly believe Yogi has some quality control issues. Which may explain why some people so ardently hate the taste, and others enjoy it. I have purchased about 5 boxes now, and I can confidently say that some boxes taste actually heavenly, while others fall so flat. I’m not sure what is missing/added to make this flavor change happen, but I will drink it regardless of the flavor. The physical benefits out-way any momentary unappealing taste.

You can definitely taste the licorice here, and I’m not a huge fan of that. However, it does work in making me a nicer person once a month and also helps with the bloating that comes with it.

Tried adding vanilla almond milk to make the taste less medicine-y.

Didn’t help.
