From Whittard of Chelsea

The original Arabic blend of Green Gunpowder tea and spearmint blend is tremendously reviving and a most refreshing digestive. Best brewed very light, but locally in North Africa made strong with sugar.

Made another pot of this for today cause my bf drank all of the rest of my first pot – lol. He apparently really likes iced mint green tea.

Thank you Ellyn! I love me some Moroccan Mint. I ordered some from Whispering Pines and the label said to steep it in 212 degree water for 30 seconds. I thought it was a bit odd and didn’t think it would turn out good but for some reason I find it more flavorful and bold rather than steeping it like a normal green. I pretty much chugged this down after a HUGE meal. I had a tummy ache :[ But it’s gone now :D
Thank you again :]

Try it for 45 seconds or 1 minute next time. I’ve been playing around with the time on Moroccan Mint and have found that bitterness only starts to occur after 1 minute :)

KallieBoo!

I will try it :D

Cold brewed this overnight using 2 tsp leaf for ~450 ml water.

Wow, these gunpowder leaves expanded a lot. The spearmint aroma is assertive yet smooth, both in the dry leaf and liquor, but its flavor is soon followed by an unpleasant and long-lasting sourness, which seems to be made worse by the addition of sugar. I did a second overnight steeping in the fridge which came out more mildly flavored, yet the icky tanginess remained. This is my first time making Moroccan mint tea, so I probably need to learn the right brewing tricks to make it taste right.

I don’t drink a lot of moroccan mint, because I don’t like gunpowder. That said, I did enjoy this tea: there’s a great balance between green tea and peppermint, you can clearly taste both without one overpowering the other. I don’t know if it was good enough to make me want more of this tea, though.

I got this tea from my friend and had doubts about it because mint is not one of my favourites (therefore I’ve never drunk mint tea before so i cannot compare). Unexpectedly I really enjoyed it. Quite refreshing and fine taste but still would not buy it by myself. Glad that i own it, though :)
