From white2tea

Stone Milk is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.

The name shiru literally translates as Stone Milk and is a lesser known variety of yancha [rock oolong]. We find the Stone Milk to be one of the best balances of value and quality in our yancha lineup. Stone Milk has a robust roast and a creamy fragrance and flavor. The body of the tea is thick and has a mineral character that plays well with the aromas of the tea. Definitely worth trying for both beginners and experienced yancha drinkers alike.

Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea

A hot cup of yancha is the perfect thing for an unusually cool June day. Pleasantly sticky, with a nice mineral sweetness that lingers on the tongue. More mild and nuanced in flavor than most roasted teas I’ve tried, I’m picking up a few floral notes too.

Gongfu Sipdown (1289)!

Sipped this free Stone Milk sample, from my last order, yesterday afternoon with a new cup from Teaware House and the cutest colour changing lychee tea pet that was a Christmas gift from Marika (my Geek Steep partner). This yancha steeps quite thick, with a pronounced roast and mineral notes. Initial steeps reminded me of charred dill weed, though gradually that char note relaxed and the flavour got creamier with toasted buckwheat and slight herbaceous flavours coming more into focus! I was relieved that it was more herbaceous/charred/mineral because when I opened the sample bag it smelled a bit skunky/like cannabis. It tasted great though, and was a really relaxing session.
