The 2018 Carbolic Soap is a high quality Milan Dancong oolong that we really enjoyed and wanted to age for our own consumption. In order to justify the purchase we also decided to sell some of this limited pressing.
Medium fragrance, heavy body with an intense body feeling. The cake is pressed tightly for the long haul.
Pressed in 2018 using Milan Dancong oolong tea from Guangdong province in China. Each cake is 200g. Cakes are packed in bamboo tongs with five cakes per tong.
A unique Dancong! I got this tea from my recent w2t order, and I have to say that the aftertaste, huigan, the finish, is super strong! This tea brings a potent chaqi to it and it also just brings a whole other dimension to the world of dancongs. This tea however lacks in strength of flavour, complexity, and aroma. If the taste and aroma was stronger and more complex, instead of being practically one-dimensional, this tea could very well be highly recommended. Yes, it is a good tea, but I’m not sure if it is worth the price. Still recommended, though.

One of last night’s tea sessions! I really enjoy the Milan Maocha so I was excited to taste Carbolic Soap, the other compressed dancong carried by W2T. I found this very robust in body and long lasting w/ consistent strong astringent wood notes carried throughout & softer floral undertones with a hint of more bitter grape skins. It was nice, but my bank account is definitely very relieved that my preference is for the more budget friendly Milan Maocha…
