My samples came! My samples came! And though I have been wanting to try Prince of Wales for a long time, I could not resist this berry flavored black. It was really calling to me.

I don’t remember having a Twinings tea that I disliked. This one definitely lives up to my expectations. It is a very nice berry flavored tea.

I am drinking it plain and hot and it is great, and it really tastes like it would be over the top good iced and sweetened.

The tea base is nice. Of the flavors, cherry is dominant to me, but it could be that red currant is a big factor also. I wouldn’t know since I have never had red currant, and only recently tried black currant for the first time.

This is a really nice cuppa! I wouldn’t mind picking up a whole box.

Our samples came with a coupon code (Mailer) for 15% off through March 30, 2013. Good thing, as I don’t think this one is sold anywhere locally.

Edited to add: Nevermind the coupon code. When you go on their site, they already offer 20% off.

Nope, not a bad Twinings in the bunch. Mine came; I tucked them in my purse for restaurant and away-from-my-stash emergencies.

I’m not sure why, but Twinings keeps sending me the little sample packets in the mail. I requested the first one, and have received 2 others since then. I’m not complaining though. It always makes my day to get any kind of tea in the mail. Twinings is one that I normally wouldn’t purchase on my own, so I’m happy to try some of these, and have been pleasantly surprised with a few of them. After discovering how good the Orange Bliss flavor is, I looked for it in our local stores, and couldn’t locate it. I did find loose leaf Twinings, but not in any of the flavored varieties.

This one is full of sweet berry flavor! Mostly cherry, but it’s not too artificial. I can’t really taste any of the black tea, but it’s still a pleasant cup. I probably wouldn’t purchase this one even if I could find it in a store because of the cherry (not my favorite), but it is nicely done and not flavored like cherry cough syrup.

-Standard teabag with a tag.
-Teabag smells of juicy cherries. Tea liquor aroma is of warm sweet fruit.
-Tea liquor is a cloudy dark brown color.
-Robust berry flavor with a sweet finish. Lingering cherry aftertaste.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Good tea. A juicy cup with sweet berry flavors. Cherry is most prominent.

Backlogging.
This was the last of my samples and I have to say I enjoyed this one the most. It is far more toned down than other berry blacks that I have and it is such a good thing. The Adagio mixed berry tea came to mind because for some reason it tastes a bit chalky to me. We used to have these awful candies when I was a kid that was just fruit flavored powder in these plastic fruit. They were awful, but super common. That is what other berry teas remind me of. This one is more heavily a black tea with notes of berry. I can’t quite pick out what berries it should be, but raspberry came to mind.
To be honest, this is the only Twinings tea I’ve had that I’ve actually enjoyed and I’d buy it if I ever saw it in a store.

Good tea to make when trying to wean your kids off of kool-aid, or when you just want a nice, sweeter tea yourself. The berry flavor is very pronounced, and the bitter black tea flavor takes a backseat to it. The tea smells of rich berries, and is a natural pale brown tea color – none of the hibiscus color/flavor usually used in berry teas. I’d prefer it chilled, but this is definitely a nice flavor hot, too.

Tea of the morning. My daughter requested this one, and for simplicity sake I made a whole pot. I accidentally let it steep for five minutes, so I was expecting some bitterness, but thankfully there wasn’t any. There is a light juicy berry flavor – a strawberry, cherry, raspberry mix – and a brisk base tea. Not my usual Monday morning cup, but a decent cup to be sure.

I don’t normally go much for black tea, but I like this one. Probably the fruit masks the flavor. But sometimes, y’know, one needs that caffeine…

Mmm! A delicious mix of berry flavors that packs the caffeine punch of standard black tea. The cherry and raspberry stood out to me the most, but all the ingredients blend so well that this tea is hard to resist as a morning pick-me-up at work. It’s best on the weaker side, lightly sweetened. Milk doesn’t pair well with this blend, so stick to a little sugar, and you’ll be set.
