From Traditional Medicinals

Traditional Medicinals Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Tea gets the juices flowing, gently stimulates the liver and supports healthy digestion. Traditional Medicinals Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Tea is resilient, tough, and supportive while tasting sweet and mildly bitter. Once you’ve brought dandelion into your life, you’ll never look at those “pesky weeds” the same way again. Named “the small postman” in Persian because of the belief that dandelion brings good news, Traditional Medicinals loves how Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Tea helps your body’s natural detoxification process by helping your body break down fats during digestion and carry away waste. Dandelion root tea has shown choleretic effects, which means that it can stimulate the liver to increase bile flow. Once bile is released by the liver, its two main functions are to carry away waste and to break down fats during digestion. Dandelion’s beneficial effects on liver and biliary tract function have been proven in pharmacological studies and have a long history of use in traditional European herbal medicine.

A review of Organic Roasted Dandelion Root by Traditional Medicinals

Company: Traditional Medicinals
Tea Name: Organic Roasted Dandelion Root
Tea Type/Varietal: herbal
Region: Poland and Bosnia / California USA
Steeping Vessel/Amt Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color: darkly golden brown
Leaf Characteristic: strong roasted cup of brewed tea

Steeping:

I used freshly boiled water and placing one tea bag in my cup, while adding the hot water over the tea bag, leaving it to steep for several minutes. After the allotted time, the tea’s aroma is strongly of roast, making for a strong cup of tea. I sip the tea slowly while taking in the aroma which makes me think of the burning of woods in the out of doors.

This tea reminds me a little of Hojicha tea which I have enjoyed immensely for its smoked aroma. The tea is both sweet and slightly bitter as the lasting note.

Overall tasting notes: This tea is wonderfully roasted in my cup. I like the headiness that if offers; as it gets the juices flowing to awaken me. I like the smokiness of it that is all.

Cup’s characteristic: roasted cup of tea

Liquor color: dark golden brown

Taste: roasted with a mildly sweet and bitter taste as the lasting impression.

I’ve always liked roasted dandelion root. I also like to eat the greens & flowers in the spring. A wonderful plant! :)

An acquired taste with a lot of health benefits much like the dandelion itself. It’s more of a fix it to your taste kind of thing. The liquor is a beautifully golden brown color. It smells like a dandelion flower vegetal fragrant floral bitter. It tastes nutty with a very slight grassy taste. It has a back taste of coffee almost. I didn’t brew it for 10-15 minutes like it said I think that would make it to bitter.
