OK… right off the bat, I’m very impressed with this blend. I open the package and am greeted by some of the freshest white tea I’ve ever seen, what a surprise to see it in a flavored tea! It’s beautiful!

And it tastes amazing too. Sweet and coconut-y, with a lovely buttery undertone. The white tea tastes as fresh as it looked prior to infusion.

So light and delicious. I like this one a lot!

Thank you to the Tea Merchant for these generous samples!

This is one of the few packages that made me pause and admire it before tearing in to get to the tea. It was wrapped in tissue paper with a fancy wax seal holding it closed. The Tea Merchant logo was stamped in the wax. Of course, it doesn’t make the tea taste any better, but I still had to show everyone near me how neat the seal was.

This was one of the ones that I requested. It smells so delicious in the bag. It actually has a very similar taste to The Persimmon Tree’s Coconut Creme. I think that calls for a side by side taste test soon! I really like the white tea flavor here. It takes the lead with the coconut flavors adding to that. It’s very creamy and smooth. I would say this is for white tea lovers more than for coconut lovers, but it’s hard not to enjoy this no matter what you love more.

Azzrian

I KNOW I was SO SO excited by the packaging!! I wrote them to thank them for that! Wax seals are SO cool – I totally want one but really have no use for one lol maybe I will get one just for tea trades! Lovely recycled packaging and wax seal made my day. I was also showing to everyone around me :)

Alphakitty

The packaging was so pretty I didn’t want to open it haha, what a nice touch!

I too was super impressed by the stamped gold wax. It was as if I had stepped back in time and was being summonesed by the king…probably to be beheaded…I wasn’t even there, I never met the guy, it’s not my fault. Oh sorry, a little corny delusional interuption.

Azzrian

So true tunes&tea – for a moment I felt a bit refined, dignified, then I remember I would have been burned at the stake so I tore the package open!

WOW!

Thank you to The Tea Merchant for the generous samples!

This tea is out of this world! SOOO delicious!
Happily – it tastes JUST like it smells! Can you believe it? mmm, it’s liek biting into a fresh, still warm coconut macaroon. Not macaron, but maybe it tastes like one of those too. Amazing.

Sweet, coconutty and a hint of pastry. Beautiful white base – full leaves and bright green and white. Quality ingredients for a very high quality tea, what else can I say? Delicious!

Meg

This sounds wonderful!

Daisy Chubb

It’s so SO good, I love that there are no blends like it (that I can think of haha), so it holds its own in my cupboard! :D

Finn88

The moment you said a hint of pastry I was sold :) Added to my list.

What a neat flavour profile!

I’m starting to think white tea may be my favorite after black tea. There’s just something about white tea that makes me not want to sweeten it, and I love not having to sweeten a cup of tea. Mostly I’ve had flavored white so I wonder if I’d like pure white tea. Must explore more.

This tea is awesome. The dry smell in the bag is incredible and I’m not quite sure how to describe it fully, other than it has a very scrumptious coconut scent. I love seeing the fuzzy white leaves and brightly colored flower pieces in this blend.

It’s an extremely relaxing brew. Light, creamy, coconut goodness.

Thank you to the Tea Merchant for being awesome and letting us at steepster try some of your teas!

Daisy Chubb

Isn’t this one delicious? Ah I could use a whole pot of it right now

teabird

I love teas that don’t want to be sweetened!

CupofTree

Yes I must find more! It’s tough sometimes though because when I think tea, I think sweet. Must be from growing up with only sweet teas.

This is surprisingly smooth and somewhat creamy, with a sweet vanilla thing going on. Has more flavor than most flavored whites I’ve tried so far, but the flavor never clashes or overwhelms the white base, a nice feat. Most (not all—Cantaloupe and Cream is a beautiful exception—but most) flavored whites I’ve tried and seen have a fruity, lemony zing to them; this has that aroma at first but it’s not in the flavor so much; it’s round and rich and decadently sweet, which I like (I’m not nuts for that lemony thing). Does evoke white chocolate and nut but thankfully without the plasticky element of actual white chocolate. Good with a cookie (who thought I’d say that about a white, even a flavored one!).

Nice nice nice. After and still being very sick (and still sorry to the people who are supposed to be getting tea from me), I’m making tea for the first time in days and it had to be this one, something sweet and light and delicious.

I have a headache again so I can’t appreciate it fully but I’m managing to forget it sometimes between this wonderful white coconut tea an the Sherlock fanfiction series that I’m deeply invested in.

Thanks to The Tea Merchant for offering out the free samples! First of all, I have to say that this tea was shipped in such an elegant manor! I absolutely loved the wax seal, super chic.

As for the tea, visually it is gorgeous. The tea leaves are beautiful and I like the fact that they used what seems to be toasted coconut flakes, as opposed to most coconut teas that are made with just plain raw flakes. It really makes a difference in flavor as well, giving it more of a nutty toasted quality rather than a mouthful of just coconut.

I steeped mine for just a tad over a minute. The package says that 1-3 minutes would work, but I have a terrible habit of over-steeping white teas so I went the “safer” route which worked out well.

As I tried a hot cup this morning, I wanted to give it a shot over ice this afternoon. Did the same for steeping, let the tea cool and then poured it over ice. Very refreshing! The tea flavor comes out a bit more when cold but it leaves a cool crisp flavor that is simply delicious.

Over all, a great coconut white tea.

First and foremost, I would like to thank The Tea Merchant for their tea sample of White Coconut Blondie. Personally, I have a love for coconut, so it’s practically impossible to resist trying a tea blend that includes coconut.
I brewed the tea to 175 degrees Fahrenheit. I steeped it for approximately two to three minutes. As I looked at the tea leaves, it looked like it included toasted coconut flakes. This is my first experience drinking white tea and I very much enjoyed it. The aroma was wonderful; it had a wonderfully strong fragrance of coconut.
While I was drinking the tea, I noticed the flavor of a more subtle coconut flavor, very different from the aroma of the tea leaves that I expected. It was a smooth and delicate taste, which I very much enjoyed and savored. The liquor was a light, yellowish color.
The tea samples came packaged in a brown tissue paper with a sage green wax seal. I must say that I was very impressed at their presentation.
Although it was not what I originally expected, I would like to say that I enjoyed their White Coconut Blondie tea. I would like to say that I am glad that I have had the opportunity to try their tea samples and that I am excited to try my second sample, Yunnan’s Fable.

Thank you to The Tea Merchant for this sample!
First off, I like their packaging. The tea is in resealable bags (looks just like the ones Verdant uses) and then they wrap the bags in brown tissue paper and seal it with a pretty wax seal. I’m all for old timey stuff like wax seals!
This tea smells pretty decadent when you open the bag. The aroma was a little strong for me actually; but then I am a bit sensitive to artificial smells. The tea is very pretty, with the white tea and the blue cornflowers.
1st steep 1 min. My favorite part about this tea is that you can still taste the white tea. Since it smelled so powerful I was expecting a strong flavor but it’s pretty mild. The white tea base is nice and delicate, with the characteristic hay notes; the coconut lends a nice creaminess.
2nd steep 3 min. I like this steep best. Same flavors of the first steep just a little more full.
I think I would have preferred it with less of the flavoring or none at all; but overall I liked it and I’m glad I got to try it!
