Lime Fizz

Okay so whatever I did differently with this one worked wonders!! It’s so very yummy!
I still don’t get much lime, but the spice note is subdued and there is some definite fizzzzzz going on.
I think there might have been less “spice” in the brewed leaves, but I can’t be sure. Either way, I’m bumping the rating wayyyyy up. In fact I may consider stocking this one :)

Yummy! My mistake with this one was, unfortunately, making an herbal to take to work when I needed a mate-infused matcha. I agree with TinaS in that it is very similar to my beloved Ginger Sparkle; it has the same sweet tingle from the ginger and other parts of the blend, but this tea definitely has a strong streak of sweet/tart limeade. Very, very tasty. I don’t know yet if I’ll restock, but it’s a good caffeine-free alternative to my Sparkle.

This is a crazy tea! I can’t believe how much fizz is going on here. It’s citrusy with a punch of tart lime and spice. It really tastes (and feels!) like some sort of limey carbonated beverage. I will probably save the rest to make iced, because this one is begging to be chilled.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could make sprite into tea? This is that tea…

This is the weirdest tea I have ever had in my entire life, but in a good way. I do not know how they made this taste fizzy? Like it actually tastes like there are bubbles in this tea? I am shocked in the best way possible.

Texture aside, I think the taste is pretty good too! :) It tastes like lime sparkling water with a slightly spicy tone! Maybe because of the ginger and red peppercorns? But it is not like a chilli flakes kind of spicy, but like a sharp gingery spice!

I am glad I cold brewed this, and honestly, if you added a bit of sugar, this would taste just like sprite.

I could see myself loving this during the summer.

Another tea I’ve had forever, but never logged. This one I’ve had probably somewhere around 3 years now too… Oops…

I remember having it in the last and not really caring for it, so it sat in the cupboard… and sat in the cupboard… and… well… you get it.

Tonight I made an iced tea. I thought I had made it strong, but I should have made it stronger ‘cause of its age. So I have another steeper with it steeping in that looks like it’s going to be extra strong, so hopefully that’ll be good.
But the one I had tonight wasn’t super good. I found that it wasn’t strong enough and it had a weird… fizziness/bite to it. I think it’s the pepper in it. Which, if it has that, it’s living up to it’s name, but for me, I found it was just odd… I’ll review differently tomorrow or even tonight if I decide to try it now instead of waiting.

After this large steeper full I have a few spoonfuls left… we’ll see how the iced tea goes. If it’s not good, I might say goodbye. If it’s good, I’ll make some more tea… we’ll see.

Edit I tried the stronger version of this one that I made into an iced tea. I don’t care for it. It’s that weird bit aftertaste, which could be totally its age more than anything, but either way, I’m not impressed. Bye tea!

Very interesting lime flavour, but not bad. I would try this again for sure!

I always feel apprehensive of edging my little ‘tea rating’ circle to the 100 percent spot on the meter, but this tea deserves little else. Lime Fizz is an herbal tea, first of all. It’s available at a little place called the Tea Haus in the London farmer’s market and it consists of herbal tea leaves, dried lime rinds and peppercorns, as well as some other things I can’t recall.

As for the name of the tea, they have a very particular way of putting the ‘fizz’ in. Teas are not meant to be carbonated, at least I think so… so instead of adding sparkling water or anything of the sort, they simulated the ‘fizz’ through adding ginger and pepper. The crackling sensation of the ‘hot’ in this tea gives the illusion and tingle of it having bubbles, and the extra peck of ginger adds that ‘je ne c’est quoi’. Clever!

The steep time is a bit high at eight minutes, but it’s certainly worth the wait!
