2020 Advent Calendar from The Tea Girl – Day 19
So I am ACTUALLY drinking this tea today, right this moment, as I missed having it within my caffeine window yesterday. I was so pumped up by the DECADENT chocolate smell, I have been looking forward to it!
Now, I always get a bit nervous when there is pu-erh in tea blends. I like good quality pu-erh on it’s own, but in blends it can get a bit fishy. So I did approach this a bit more cautiously when I saw the ingredients. I steeped for 2 and a half mins with boiling water, and wow it still smells very chocolatey!
As for the flavor, wow. This is awesome. I am not normally a huge fan of chocolate teas, as they always have a weird artificial note for me, but I don’t know if it’s the base teas or the flavoring used, this is SO GOOD. The Yunnan base is very present with that sweet potato and sugary aftertaste, and the chocolate flavoring just melds right in there. It’s like eating a dark chocolate with some sugar. This is tasty and totally satisfying my sweet tooth!! Very impressed! One of the best chocolate teas I’ve had in a long time (that is straight chocolate, not mint chocolate, etc.)
