this is certainly a blackberry tea. it’s tea first but definitely still blackberries.

I know moraiwe likes this tea iced, and MAYBE i’ll try that, but i’m not really an iced person.

i will say that i drank this tea yesterday and today both and it went down easily, and the scent lingered for a noticable while, and i liked it, but still found it hard to write about i guess.

This was my favorite bagged tea from years ago. I used to love going up to Borders, collecting a bunch of books then sitting down for a couple of hours to flip thru them to see if I want to buy them. (This is also when I was making more $$.) Anyways, this flavor is what I got most of the time there. But for whatever reason I stopped drinking it and the canister of tea ended up getting really stale in the cupboard….and I forgot what brand of tea it was, til I happened to look up “Blackberry Sage” and there it was on the ROT website. I recognized the logo and everything. And then! I found that my local favorite fruit market carries this brand. Yippeeee!!!! jumps up and down Ok…down to the review:

1st smell: Mmm. Never been a huge fan of eating blackberries because of the food stains. I have always been big so self conscious to being judged about pigging out. But, this smelled just as sweet as I remembered.
1st taste: I added some of my german rock sugar…and some apriva. rolls eyes I really shouldn’t need to add so much sweetener.

IMHO this is much better then the bagged version. There is no having to contend with the slight papery taste to the tea. And the black tea base is perfect for this. As for the sage. lol…not being very acquainted with sage so I am not sure how much of that plays a part.

This tea smells amazing. Just like blackberries. And has big chunks of blackberry in it (that my finace thought would be funny to eat two of last night!)

Hot, I kind of lose the blackberries, which take a backseat to the tea itself. I get the tang, but not the taste. I do get a nice greeny spinach finish from the sage.

So, I cold brewed this overnight and I found my blackberries! They’re fruity, and juicy and tangy and right there! The spinach splash from the sage becomes more prominent too, as the tea itself just seems to bind all the flavors together smoothly without making itself known as much.

I like this tea both ways for sure, but I think iced edges out hot just because that’s where the blackberry flavor is!

I think I’ll try it again later without sweetener, and I might try it iced, too. I don’t really taste the blackberry right now, but I think it’s mostly because I let it steep too long.

Blackberry Sage has long been my favorite “every day” tea. Huge hunks of blackberry, a bright but not-to-bitter black tea base, and just a hint of sage to keep it from being too sweet make this an exceptionally pleasing cup of tea.

This is one of the teas I grabbed from Acquired Taste in Edmonton, AB. Huge dried blackberries litter the blend, and I both smell and taste very little sage, but it’s in there. It’s primarily a juicy, fully flavored blackberry tea, and I’m quite happy with that. Will have to try it iced, and send some off to OMGsrsly and Suziquer to try out.

One of the best teas I’ve ever had. I love the fruity smell. It is quite strong, so you have to steep it faster or else the tea will be bitter.

I usually add honey to enhance the fruity nature of this tea.
