Our TieGuanYin fills your palate with delicate honey and honeydew and has a heady, floral aroma. If you drink green tea or black tea you will come to appreciate this premium and sophisticated oolong. A green tea drinker can appreciate its strong floral fragrance sans grassiness and black tea drinkers will appreciate its nuttier and sweeter taste sans “astringency.” Smooth and subtle, a great introduction to Oolong for green and black tea drinkers.

Formosa TieGuanYin are extremely rare and hard to come by, especially one of this caliber. It was grown and harvested in LiShan – Taiwan’s famous tea producing mountain region – and crafted using traditional Formosa oolong methods: a light-medium oxidation to bring out floral and fruity notes, rolling, and a quick roast. The thick and intensely complex liquor will amaze you with a creaminess and fruitiness that lingers on the palate long after your cup is finish.

Suggested Serving Size: 3-5 grams
Steep Time: 2 min. 30 sec.

Brewing Instructions
Treat this TieGuanYin as you would a high mountain oolong. A slightly longer steep time will accentuate the floral notes and complexity.

3-5 grams steeped at 200 degrees for 2 minutes and 30 seconds for the first serving, halve the time for the second, and add 30 seconds for each subsequent infusion.

Got a sample of this tea from the package Cookies sent me! I think this is the right tea on here, but took me a bit to find it for some reason. xD
Anyway, she sent me a bunch of oolongs, which was awesome because I love oolongs! I seriously will try any oolong, unless I know for a fact it’s only going to be roasty xD
Anyway, this one was smooth and thick. The main flavor was butter, which really is not my thing. There was a touch of floral in the background but not enough of it to balance out the salty butter taste. For the sake of my stomach I decided not to finish the cup. Don’t do so well with buttery teas. :S
But glad to have tried it. Thank you for the sample, Cookies!!

A pleasant, typical, no-nonsense Tie Guan Yin. It has the usual floral aroma, but is a bit sweeter (honeyed) than others I have tried. An enjoyable tea at a nice price.

First infusion – 3 g. per 6 oz water, 90 deg., 2:30 min.

Second infusion – 3 g. per 6 oz. water, 90 deg., 4:00 min.

Third infusion – 3 g. per 6 oz. water, 90 deg., 10+ min.
