From The Essence of Tea

This is a nicely aged loose leaf puerh. As with most aged loose leaf puerhs, there is some blending that has happened over the years. It was sold to me as being from 1992, but after tasting it several times, I’d suggest that many of the leaves are from a little later (~mid-90’s).
Nonetheless, this is an excellent loose leaf aged puerh, with an exceedingly clean taste, smooth character and long sweet aftertaste. The leaves are large, thick and strong, with their flavour concentrated towards the back of the mouth and throat, suggesting their origins from old trees.
This is a great choice for those wanting an nicely aged puerh of a high quality that is inexpensive enough for everyday drinking.

I cannot in truth explain the properties of this fine tea, for in has, in truth, gently turned my mind into soup. It is a splendid tea for relaxing, most excellent in longevity of flavor, if not as much durability.

I do not recommend having it if you intend to undertake strenuous activity or even partake in other teas subsequently.

There was a bit of storage in the early going, but it went away relatively quickly.

Pretty good value proposition due to being loose, I can see why he’s sold through various iterations of loose Da Ye over the years. Outside of storage it doesn’t progress overly much, but it does enough imo to keep focused attention.

And as you may have noticed, it can also cause rambling stream of consciousness. Well done, EoT.

Rasseru

I still have yet to try any EoT, have you been impressed so far?

I have indeed, although I can understand why their storage doesn’t do it for some folks. Also my favorite thing I’ve had they’re out of. But while the pound is down, this and the Qi Sheng Gu seem good value buys, provided you don’t mind a modest amount of Malaysian basement in the front or will air out for a large period.

This review is based on many sessions with over 100 grams of this tea.
Its a great tea.
Excellent aged aroma to rinsed leaves.
Clean, fresh mouth feeling.
Mostly wood, earth flavors in the tea itself.
I drink it for sense of relaxation and well being that it invokes.
This tea wont mess up your digestion with cold bitterness as some more flavorful young teas will do.
I believe that this tea is a good value and a solid choice for those who drink puer for its mind/body effects.

I like this one too. I think it is mostly woody but that it offers a comforting taste and it is very smooth, specially after the first 2-3 steeps.
