For someone who doesn’t much do honey in tea, this nook in my cherry wood tea chest is emptying out fast! It’s gentle, nicely balanced, a no-brain steeper. Not nearly as syrupy cloying as the Ludens cough drops we’d eat full boxes of during the sermon on Sundays, but brings back that sensory memory.

Cards and Tea travelling teabox

I pulled this one out because i have no chamomile teas in my cupboard at the moment. I was also intrigued by the use of the world “honey” since i typically add honey to my sleepytime teas :) this smells like honey upon brewing it, and the first sips are distinctively chamomile and honey. I like that this is also green rooibos and not red. this was nice to try, though i think if it was a regular in my cupboard, i’d drink it with just a little lemon added to really get that honey, lemon flavour out of it :)

You’ve been sipping on some of my favorite bagged teas. I was surprised at how much I liked this one.

heh this one wasn’t bagged unless someone went to the trouble of opening bags and putting them in a plastic bag haha

When I first tried this tea, I had quite liked it. However, I’m trying it a second time, and it’s really not doing it for me. All I can taste is a fake lemony flavoring that reminds me of chemicals, followed by a faint sweetness that is barely reminiscent of honey.

I didn’t prepare it any differently this time. Maybe my tea tastes change with my mood.

In any event, I’ll give this a third chance at another time before I lower my rating on it. For tonight, it’s a miss for me, unfortunately.
