From Teapigs

About this tea:

For those of you who have bought our morning glory tea before, this is the same great blend except we’ve added even more tea to our temple. We renamed it english breakfast as some people didn’t recognise that this is our everyday blend of tea.
Our signature blend – the teapigs version of builders’ tea, if you will. Far from ordinary, it’s a skilful balancing act between three glorious teas: a gutsy Assam, a mellow little Ceylon and a powerful newcomer from Rwanda. (Learn more about life on the Pfunda estate here)

Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tea!

I’ve reviewed this tea previously here:

This is a really bold, gutsy breakfast blend – and I am not exactly sure why I chose to drink it at 4:45 pm. But it is good as a late afternoon tea too! Deliciously malty. Brisk!

A perfect accompanier to an English style breakfast, or in this case an English style breakfast but for dinner.

Add one demerara sugar and a dollop of milk to create perfection.

The tea itself is strong, malty and very much full bodied. It’s one of the stronger breakfast tea’s I have found which is why I love it.

Well I find myself in the Denver airport once again, my nemesis if I ever had one. I like people, just not this many people all at once and mostly disgruntled as flying sucks lately. Was there always a Capital One lounge here? I would have gotten their premium travel card sooner if I had known. Better than United lounge, but I am still in an airport all day. So I’m trying the tea. It’s in a plastic pyramid bag, ick. I over steeped the first brew and it was bitter, so not very forgiving for a distracted traveler. The second brew isn’t as bitter but still so astringent. I am tempted to try the ginger lemon Tea Pigs, but might rummage through my bag to find better tea.

Airports. Ugh! Hope you made your destination safely.

Quiet Creation

I’ve not tried it, but I know this is considered a fancier UK brand. Or, at least, more expensive. Usually it’s viewed as being ok…

This is my favorite English Breakfast Tea! It is bold, yet never bitter. It is excellent on its own, or paired with milk and raw sugar. This is my go-to morning blend. The combinations of the leaves used it this tea give it a rich, strong flavor and maybe even a hint of sweetness too. Definitely give this blend a try!

My only complaint is that this isn’t available in loose-leaf form. I wish Tea Pigs would offer loose leaf for those of us who prefer not to use the sachets.

A good strong hardy tea. A “builder’s brew” but much higher quality as reflected in the somewhat premium price. Well worth the price. My tip is to brew it to almost stewed strength.
