Description
Wild blueberry is an endemic shrub growing in the mountain forests of Guria (western part of Georgia). Young leaves are harvested by hand in spring and then processed according to the black tea production technology. Bilberry leaf infusion has a very long history of use, also in traditional medicine. Improved traditional technology is now being used to bring out more flavor and properties. It is a drink with a strong antioxidant effect that contains many beneficial nutrients, such as flavonoids, anthocyanins, vitamins C and E and minerals. Does not contain caffeine.
Bilberry tea leaves contain 31 times more antioxidant polyphenols and anthocyanins than the berries themselves. They are an excellent source of vitamin C. An infusion of blackberry leaves strengthens the immune system, helps relieve pain and swelling in inflammatory conditions, helps lower blood pressure, reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes. Recommended for allergies, skin diseases, diabetes, macular degeneration and chronic syndrome fatigue. Research suggests it may help lower blood sugar levels, improve immune function, protect against free radical cell damage, reduce the risk of heart disease, and support digestive health by reducing inflammation and supporting healthy gut flora.
Bilberry leaf infusion (“Motsvi chai”) can be served both hot and cold. It can also be added to other drinks such as fruit teas, smoothies and cocktails.
Our blueberry leaves come from ecologically clean, mountainous areas of Georgia and do not contain any additives, artificial flavors or dyes. They are 100% natural!
