From Teaopia

Iced Princess is a flavoured tea that combines Green Sencha and Ceylon Black with apple pieces, hibiscus, papaya bits and orange peel. The mixture of natural ingredients creates a wonderful strawberry-peach flavour good enough for royalty. This tea is great both hot or iced and will be praised by tea and fruit lovers.

This tea has now been left at work! it is just too easy to over steep, and too easily scortched when adding water and the horrible orange rind taste of this tea just just vomit inducing! I feel awful since it is a delightful smelling tea.

This looks like a blend just asking for trouble. Black and green teas have wildly different steeping times and water temps, and hibiscus can take over a tea so easily….blegh. Have you tried cold steeping it? Leave a tsp in an infuser or teaball in a mug of cool water in the fridge overnight? It would prevent scorching, but the hibiscus might enjoy the long soak too much. Anyway, it’s worth a try!

MaddHatter

it’s just a write off for me, there is no tea left and there was no help from anyone at Teaopia about what to do with this tea… Oh Customer Service Where have you gone?

Daddyselephant

I think those of us who start our looseleaf tea journey with DavidsTea get spoiled and we just won’t put up with terrible customer service from anywhere else.

Tea #8 from Another Traveling Tea Box

I feel like this tea had potential. It smelled super good in the bag, and even the wet leaf smells fruity with a little but of spice. And then I tasted it.

Sigh. Hibiscus.

Seriously. All I taste is apple and hibscus, with an aftertaste of orange. There’s no tea, no papaya, and certainly no combination of ingrediants creating a ‘wonderful strawberry-peach flavour’. Bummer.

Tea #19 from Another Traveling Tea Box

I’m at a bit of a loss as to hot to make a good cup of tea out of this. I tried twice, with different temperature water, and I kept getting an extremely bitter cup. I would say that you should probably skip fixing this hot and do a cold steep, it will likely turn out better that way.

Happy Easter to me! Got a takeya iced tea pitcher and the iced tea party pack from Teaopia. This was my first attempt at making iced tea, and it was definitely a success! I cold brewed for 12 hours, about 6 teaspoons worth for the pitcher (probably could have used more tea, it is a little on the weak side). This tea is delicious iced (mind you, I have also never had it warm, but with a name like Iced Princess, there seemed to be only one proper way to do it right?). I don’t really taste the black or green teas, but rather the fruitiness of the apples, papaya and hibiscus. It is both sweet and a little tart (the hibiscus no doubt) and overall very pleasing and refreshing. If you don’t like hibiscus, you probably won’t like this tea. Also, if you don’t like the flavours to overwhelm the base of the tea, you won’t like this tea.
I’m thinking this begins a long summer of iced tea experimentation!

This is a strange, mix of green/black tea with fruit. It’s unusual considering that the closest thing to compare this too taste-wise is cool-aid. The tea absolutely needs to be sweetened. Also, it can be over steeped because it has a green tea base. I can’t recommend it to everyone either. This would be more for newcomers to tea, or those looking to make a massive amount of iced tea for their friends and/or family.

It’s not a bad cup, just not great either.
