From Tealyra

Invite a little more of a Vibrant Glow into your day with our delicious golden blend of sea buckthorn and citrus fruit herbal tea.

Our super-healing sea buckthorn blend, Vibrant Glow, is a delightful citrussy tea with powerful anti-inflammatory benefits. Sea buckthorn is a natural anti-inflammatory that supports the health of your heart, skin, mobility, digestive system, and the liver. It reduces oxidative stress and boosts your overall energy naturally- without caffeine! Sea buckthorn is also very healing for those who struggle with gout and uric acid buildup.

Our vibrant blend steeps up a sunshine-yellow golden liquor, with a sweet lime aroma. At first taste, the complimentary taste of orange, pineapple, and tart key lime combine with the unique sweet taste of sea buckthorn for a refreshing taste that will have you glowing from the inside out.

Ingredients: Apple, sea buckthorn peel, pineapple (pineapple, sugar), orange, natural flavor, lemongrass, safflower, lime, tartaric acid

knittingopera Swap Advent Calendar 2024 – Day 15 (my pick)
Theme: All Is Bright
Her pick: Blood Orange Smoothie from Spice of Life & Variety Teas

I thought this would be a fun one to send to Marjorie, as I know she drinks a lot of iced/cold steeped tea, and this is one of my favorites for that. I thought I would try it hot tonight, since I’ve never had it that way. And it’s nice! It came out a little bit weak with the amount I used, but just as lovely as it is cold. Tangy, but not too much so, and such a bright sea buckthorn and orange flavor. There’s something a little bit apricot-y about it as well, or maybe even persimmon? Which adds nice richness and dimension. Yummy!

Flavors: Apricot, Citrus, Fruity, Honey, Juicy, Nectar, Orange, Persimmon, Sea Buckthorn, Stonefruit, Sweet, Tangy, Tart

I was just perusing a sea buckthorn non-alcoholic “spirit” — such an underused flavor, IMHO!

Yes, agreed!

I wanted to say they are quite common, but probably it’s different market :)
And not so common as I thought.

I’ve never had sea buckthorn anything – I didn’t even know it was a thing! always interesting to learn about regional ingredients.

I don’t think I’ve ever had any of the actual fruit ha ha, but I love it as a flavor in things! So nice and bright and tangy without being sour.

Martin Bednář

There is, not so far away, a sea buckthorn farm. I never been there, but they have so many sea buckthorn goodies!

Oooh so lovely! They have a tea even!

Martin Bednář

Indeed they have :)

They grow here in Quebec too so it’s not as uncommon to find different seabuckthorn flavoured things (jams, vinaigrettes, juices, etc) in our market. However, I’ve almost never seen the fresh fruit outside of this province and veeerrrryyy rarely all the lovely seabuckthorn flavoured things. Though, there was a local kombucha company back in Saskachewan that did a seabuckthorn flavour that was delish.

I swear by seabuckthorn salve from Chagrin Valley for, burns, but I didn’t know it was a flavor and edible berry until years after using it medicinally. Ashman is using a seabuckthorn/tamamu blend now medicinally, so I was surprised to find out it could also be food. LOL
