This is the best thing ever! Well, as far as banana teas go? (Have I had banana teas before? Maybe a bluebird one? I wish it were easier to search).

It’s similar to a banana chocolate smoothie, minus the artificial flavours. Obviously it’s not as thick as a smoothie but it does have a bit of thickness to it, which is probably partly because of the rooibos. I didn’t add any sweetener to it as it had enough to begin with. This is a pretty relaxing tea before bed.

ETA: I put the remaining 6oz in the fridge to cool and am enjoying it now. It’s not AS good as it was hot, but I am still liking it. Maybe if I’d cold-steeped it I’d like the cold version more.

You’ve had banana dream pie!

I have! Actually I think I have a 25g pack in my cupboard that I’m holding onto for swap or when I’m in the mood for it. Was it one you really liked? I could add it to your Harney&Sons samples and matcha. I rated it at 74.

Turns out I had Monkey Chops and really liked that too because of the natural banana flavour, but it’s a black tea. I think this wins because it’s herbal and cheaper to ship than the Bluebird tea would be. And tealux has sales occasionally so I just need to wait! (Speaking of sales, I am saving my tea budget mostly for Black Friday sales… then… bwahahaha)

TeaBrat

oh, I would like this!

I dooo like banana dream if you wanna spare some o__o! It was one of those tempting sales the other day!

TeaLady441

Will do Ozli! I’m just spooning out some Harney&Sons samples for you atm. :P Hope to get it out next week.

Hhmmmmmmm I’m not really sure why I ordered this. I’m not really a big banana fan. It’s ok, not my favorite. It tastes like chocolate banana to me, it’s not really that strong of a banana flavor, which is probably better for me. I might have sweetened this a bit too much. Need to remember that Tealux’s dessert blends are sweet and I shouldn’t be adding as much, if any to them.

I’ve managed to drink most of this without ever having added a tasting note. I’ve always meant to, but it’s just not seemed to happen. This tea is obviously my busy tea! I use 1 tsp of leaf for this one, and give it about 4 minutes in boiling water. No additions.

The thing I like most about this one is the banana flavouring. I find with a lot of banana teas that the flavour just isn’t really very strong, or it gets lots among other (stronger) flavours. It’s clearly the key player here, and it’s a nice over-ripe, squashy banana. There’s a hint of chocolate to this one, although its by no means strong. It adds a nice creamy cocoa note to the background, and the combination reminds me a little of banana hot chocolate. The rooibos is a little prominent, but not terrible. I have a feeling a splash of milk would take that down, but unfortunately I don’t have any with me at the moment. Something to try before the last cup of this one is gone! The pink peppercorn adds a spicy note to the aftertaste (it tingles on my tongue), which I think is pretty unnecessary. Still, it’s a pretty good choice as far as banana teas go – not the best (that would be 52 Teas Banana Pudding!), but definitely up there. A yummy mid-morning treat.

Thanks to cavocorax for sending this to my wife along with lots of other goodies today, it was such a nice surprise for a Monday! This is the second chocolate monkey I’ve come across so I was excited to compare the two! This version definitely has a better chocolate taste than the other I’ve tried, perhaps because the peppercorns are less pronounced. It’s a very smooth tea, great for a nice quiet evening at home after a long day. Very tasty tea, I could definitely see myself ordering some from tealux in the future!
