I like tea blends that have chamomile, but they have to be done well. This one makes me a little nervous because of the licorice, but I’m hoping that the vanilla and chamomile will be able to hide that flavor. The blend is quite heavy on the chamomile flowers – I almost can’t see any of the other ingredients except for the lemongrass. The scent is light, slightly herbal and sweet.

Sipping… the chamomile is the first thing that I taste. It changes quickly into the nicest combination of flowers and vanilla. The finish is sweet, but a little strange. I’m getting some notes of licorice (that throat-coating sweetness) and stevia. I wish that this blend could just be the vanilla and chamomile because that mixture is lovely. The stevia and licorice finish ruins the cup, in my opinion. It’s not undrinkable, but leaves a gross feeling and flavor in the back of the throat.

I really enjoy this tea! This is the first Chamomile I’ve ever liked in my life. Yes, I’m serious.
Though, like the other taster, I find that this tea doesn’t need any sweetener. (though, I wouldn’t have guessed about the stevia leaf in it…interesting!) I had this tea at a coffee shop a couple blocks from my house, and was expecting something much less impressive than this. This tea was placed in a sachet at the coffee shop, something that I took home and drank all day afterwards. I figured the sachet would affect the taste in some way, because the chamomile leaves were pretty tightly packed, but not so.
I am SO purchasing this in bulk for myself.

This tea is very sweet. You’ll expect that when you open it…you can smell the vanilla right away…and also a faint trace of something else that’s almost but not quite chocolate, even though chocolate isn’t represented anywhere in the actual flavor or scent once you brew it up.

It’s not ‘in your mouth’ sweet. Well…it IS, but the sweetness seems to linger after you swallow, in the aftertaste, rather than being picked up by your tongue when you actually have a sip of tea in your mouth. After taking another look at the ingredients I find myself unsurprised…it has honeybush and stevia leaf in it, and that seems pretty typical for both of those.

The ingredients list also includes kukicha. I confess that while I’ve had this tea multiple times in the past, I never bothered to look up what kukicha is. It seems to be bits of a green tea plant aside from the leaves? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukicha

Learn something new every day.

It brews to a very pretty golden-honey color, with much warmer and deeper smells than I’m getting out of the foil bag. Trying to suss out the individual flavors is difficult for me tonight…I blame this cold I’m still fighting…but I can get a sense of every listed ingredient on the bag save for the coconut. There’s always a creeping sweetness at the finish, climbing up the sides of my tongue to linger toward the back. Every time I cough or clear my throat, it intensifies a lot. Crazy!

When I first tried this tea, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. It is very sweet, and I was accustomed to a very mellow, completely unsweetened, almost sort of bread-y cup when I thought about chamomile teas. I think I’ve finally decided that I like it, though. It’s an off-beat kind of sweet, and the way it happens mostly on the swallow is interesting enough to keep my attention.

I did cut the amount it recommended to brew by 1/3 though…I used 2 tsp. in 3c. of water. I should probably try their recommendation sometime to see how it goes (maybe I’ll find the coconut on the other side of that threshold) but in the past I’ve never had any trouble infusing a plenty-strong cup with even less than I used tonight.

Now, to spend 20 minutes in the kitchen trying to get this stuff out of my infuser. I think I need to invest in some silk pyramid bags or something for a few of my pesky Particle Teas. :|

Ugh, anything chamomile-based is SUCH a pain! I need to get those baggies too, because it’s very traumatic and problematic trying to get every single pollen bit out of the little mesh holes.

So often with vanilla teas, the vanilla is a mere ghost of a flavor, just an impression.
Not so with this, which is full of the rich vanilla flavor I like so much. Well done!
I’m gonna need more of this in the future, I think. Thank you Ost for letting me try!

My computer is being stupid and is pissing me off. This is the fourth time I have tried to write this stupid review! I will have to write a proper one this after noon.

I liked this tea. I might buy it again.

Wee! Thank you Nichole for sending this to me!! I’m kind of a hit or miss with chamomile teas – but this flavour just called to me! The tea in the bag smells like honey, not in an overpowering way but in a sweet way. I over steeped this one by quite a bit while I was cooking myself a grilled cheese, but the tea tastes like honey too! I actually don’t really get any vanilla taste from this… which seems odd but I like it anyway! Should be named Chamomile Honey maybe? Haha

Again with this tea company being underrated!!
Seriously, you guys. If you’re into flavored teas, check this company out! They really make their blends spot on!
This tea was shockingly good too. I hated the dry leaf smell, reminded me of a hookah I smoked once. xD But can’t place which flavor that tobacco was.
The tea itself was actually a good mix of sour chamomile and the creamy, smooth vanilla bean flavor. The vanilla bean dominated this tea, but you could still taste the chamomile. Really well done-especially for a chamomile!
Another win from the, Tea Guys!!! :D :D

Wow, this sounds good! I need to find another place that has Tea Guys stuff. My favorite tea shop carries some of their blends, but not this one.

Ost

Well their shipping on their online shop is pretty cheap, and they sell samples. Definitely worth picking up!
