Slowly finishing this one off.

This is actually tasting pretty stunning right now – and it hasn’t in quite a long time, though I’m thinking the reason it seems so good is because tonight it’s the follow up tea to a very disappointing blend; so just the sharp contrast is probably making this seem a little better than it really is.

I’m getting tons of lychee tonight; though the downside is a really grassy finish to the floral notes of the lychee. Better than my previous cup tonight; but still a “no”.

I’m sleepy again, so I may take a power nap and do some more tea drinking closer to around midnight…

Thanks Roswell Strange for this sample.

I am finding I am having a hard time picking up the scents in the dry Tea Desire teas. This one appears to be what looks like sencha green tea with flower petals mixed in. Not getting much scent.

The brewed tea tastes very floral. It is a slightly astringent green tea, but also buttery and creamy like sencha usually is. I can strongly taste the rose, as well as the other cornflower and sunflower petals. I am not picking up much mango or lychee flavour. At the end of the sip, there does seem to be a fruity flavour, possibly mango, but I am finding it to be very perfumey tasting.

Edit: After it has cooled to almost room temp, there is more of a fruit flavour. It could be lychee, but it actually reminds me more of overripe apples.

Sipdown!! (155)

Thank you Roswell Strange for the chance to try something new. Having had it both hot and cold, I can say this is definitely better cold. The mango and lychee flavor come out much more whereas the base takes a back seat to the flavors. Good, not great but the rating will get bumped a bit because the cold brew is certainly an improvement.
