Geek Steep S3E6 – Koroko’s Basketball
So this is what I picked out while watching this anime. The vibe I was kind of going for was picking out a drink/flavour that would make me feel like I was back in highschool coming home after class with a bunch of snacks to watch my favourite anime – but, like, in Japan.
Song Tea is a local bubble tea shop that I’ve ordered from before. Their specialty is fruit based bubble teas, and in particular they lean more into Asian flavours. That’s not to say, like, lychee or other fruits from Asia (though that’s true too). More like the fact that when I ordered this peach bubble tea I knew I was going to specifically be getting the more pinkish looking sweet white peach flavour with floral undertones and not the more commercial Western interpretation of peach. Which was perfect!
This is also a “snow capped” bubble tea, meaning it had cheese foam on top – which is my favourite bubble tea addition. It was kind of like ‘peaches and cream’ but make it more Chinese in origin, if that makes sense?? I also grabbed some hi-chew candies and between my sweets and bubble tea I thought it was a phenomenal pairing for this more laid back watch through – really apropos to this anime that takes place over the course of a highschool basketball tournament.
