From Silk Road Teas

NEW HARVEST & SPECIAL PRICING. This tea captures the essence of China’s spring teas unlike any other. Our competition grade Bi Luo Chun or Green Snail Spring is from the earliest pickings when the leaves are tender and most interesting in taste. We try to find a first flush with a rich mix of mostly white bud and jade-color leaf that offers a subtly sweet liquor and captures a precious moment of spring. Once steeped, the leaves show their delicate, snail-like shape. This tea will cup to wonderful fruity aroma and clean flavor. Brew in water temperature of 170 degrees for 1 – 1 1/2 minutes, drain and re–steep.

Very fragrant Bi Lo Chun, I was surprised at the scent of the leaf by itself and while steeping the scent is enhanced. This is not a very floral tea, it is more on the fruity side and I can only compare it to the taste of the skin of a plum. It can be pricey but the leaf can be re-steeped if not over-steeped the first time.

Fresh and Nutty. Delicate and easy to over-brew. Use cooler water temp and shorter steeping time.
