The tea has a very strong cherry aroma which smells delightful! The taste was a little of a letdown for me because I love a very strong chocolate taste, which wasn’t super there. The cherry taste was pretty good but a bit borderline medicine tasting. Overall not too bad.

Sipdown! (5 | 85)

So I signed up for the Nelson’s Tea subscription (don’t ask why I was even on their website, I have no idea…) because it’s only $10 and you get 3 samples with free shipping. And some of their teas sounded interesting. They have a promotion where you get a free gravity steeper with your first box, and I wrote a note requesting for them to leave that out (because I have 10 million infusers that I never use). And they did leave it out, but they included extra free samples because of it! How nice is that? :3

Anyway, I figured I would start with this tea because I was almost certain not to like it. I don’t usually like chocolate teas and cherry is very hit-or-miss for me. Turns out, I don’t like it ha ha. The chocolate is fine, but the cherry tastes like a generic cherry lollipop to me. Which makes sense, given chocolate-covered cherries are more of the maraschino type and have that amaretto-ish note to them. On top of that, the base is puerh, and I can really taste the earthiness. That earthy note combined with the cloying candy cherry is really not a good combination IMO.

Anyway, happy to have it out of the way. :P

2022 Spring Tea Swap – Day 12
From Emilie!

I didn’t have much tea this weekend. I think only a cup on Saturday morning and that was it. Just wasn’t feeling it, I guess. Or maybe I simply never got around to making any. I do much better on weekdays when I have a routine in place. Tea always starts the day on weekdays. That said, I’m starting today off with another tea from Emilie’s swap. I’m only halfway through the teas that Emilie sent, and I think I’ve loved nearly every one so far.

This blend has a very strong aroma – definitely chocolaty and fruity. The cherry flavor stands out. Even though the fruits are different, it reminds me a lot of Raspberry Chocolate Truffle from Nelson’s Tea that I had last week.

Spending the rest of my day, aside from work, enjoying a relisten of the It Makes A Sound podcast now that Season 2 has officially arrived. That and cooking some cilantro-lime chicken and rice for dinner. Maybe another cup of tea this afternoon. No caffeine after this one though.
