Cinnamon, cardamon, cocoa and cloves—flavors all swirled together in a delicious mixture.

I was thinking of adding some strong black tea to this but I wanted to see how this was like on its own—and it is yummy!

There’s a sweetness like sugar cane…maybe it’s the cloves…—ahh I’m getting a flashback to clove cigarettes (Djarums to be exact) —from my disenchanted youth ;). Now I need to blast some atmospheric Dead Can Dance and light up some strawberry incense.

Cheers to our clove-y teenage years!

Oh my gosh—yes! School nights at Helter Skelter in L.A. thinking I was so cool. :)

When I opened this sample, I thought “Woah! This looks weird.” Then I smelled it.. and I was in heaven. I LOVED this tea. It has a strong cinnamon taste with nice notes of cardamom and clove. You can barely taste any chocolate. It is the last flavor you get a hint of. The only thing I would change about this tea is to add just a tad more chocolate. But it still was an awesome one!

Appearance: large chunks of whole spices. Liquor: brown with heavy sedimentation. Smell: very strong and spicy. Taste: I don’t actually get the chocolate taste very much with this one. It is a lovely, warm spice blend, with strong cinnamon and cardamom flavors. Standing on it’s own, this is a 5/10. What I actually like to do with this one, though, is blend it with other teas and tisanes. Blended with rooibos is really good, and it’s a nice way of bringing variety to an otherwise nondescript black. As a blending agent, I may rate this as a 7/10.

This is a lovely caffeine-free spicy infusion, but I must say I can’t detect a single hint of chocolate in there anywhere. It brews up pale golden, with a robust cinnamon aroma. The cardamom and clove round out the flavor nicely, but cinnamon predominates there as well. A nice, warming choice on a crisp autumn morning, but it’s just not a chocolate tea.
