A Creamy & Cool Pina Colada for Booze-free Celebrations & Gorgeous Glowing Skin

I LOVE Pina Coladas but I definitely don’t love rum or the high calories that come with a real Pina Colada so I created this blend to feel as celebratory as the cocktail but with creamy dreamy coconut and blue pea flower for a blue tropical iced tea that is a powerful hydration drink for summer. I love adding a splash of coconut milk to this one for a rich blue iced latte!

Cold Brew!

This was my cold brew this afternoon and it was fine but not really my thing. It did brew a very beautiful, rich blue colour that I know would appeal to some – but I just felt it was a smidge gimmicky. I was more investested in the coconut notes, which are smooth and a bit buttery/creamy but lacking a depth and sweetness or richness to feel… I don’t know… complete!? It’s just kinda thin, and the mouthfeel a bit oily from all the coconut fat. Thin and oily isn’t exactly winning me over.

There’s something else happening flavourwise here too that I find interesting. It’s a bit like there’s a butterscotch or maybe buttered rum sort of undertone/finish? It’s sweet and a little bit boozy, but again not quite rich enough or well fleshed out to feel satisfying. It is interesting combined with the coconut, and something about the two are vaguely ticking a memory deep, deep in the back of my head of DT’s long discontinued Gold Rush tea.

I just want more.

Another blue tea. I should have gone with one of the more interesting ones, I know, like the meringue pie or the limtied editions Currant one or Pineapple Champagne Lavender French one, but I like coconut.

This one was one I was hyped for, but kinda felt underserved. It brews better iced than the cheesecake one, but it’s a little bit more subtle on the flavor. Pina Colada vibes for sure, but the banana overtakes the coconut sometimes. Unfortunately, it almost requires coconut milk to really sing and show off the blue color of the butterfly pea flower. I do like it and think it’s good, but I need to try it hot to have a fully formed opinion. I still really like the idea of the tea and think it does serve its purpose as a nonboozy pina colada alternative, but the banana pulls away from the coconut. That could be good if you’re not a coconut fan, but I am.
