First off, I must say what a delicious tea! This is a ceremonial grade premium Matcha with a premium taste. The flow is very smooth upon consumption, and with slightly aggressive mixing you can produce a well amount of foam amongst the top of your tea. It’s reasonably priced for the type of quality you are getting. It produces a very nice vibrant green and has an earthy taste. The smell is reminiscent of fresh cut grass as you inhale and taste the pleasant earth tones.

Ujitawara Matcha is serious business. There is a stark difference between this sort of ceremonial quality Matcha and Matcha sold by retailers outside of Japan.
It isn’t bitter at all, and has a sweet aftertaste. Its color is vibrant green and its smell a lush vegetal note that lingers almost as much as the aftertaste does.
Definitely one of the best I’ve ever had the chance to lay my hands on.

This tea doesn’t seem to be available on Lupicia’s US online store, so I was surprised to see it at the San Francisco retail location and decided to try it out.

The aroma and taste of this matcha are not too exciting. Perhaps it is an older batch? But what is interesting is that it brews up very sweet and incredibly creamy. Beautifully frothy and easy to drink.
