From KTeas

Direct from the Morawaka Tea Estate in Ceylon (Sri Lanka)!

Curly, leafy tea of a slightly smaller size (hence the “1”) produce a good, basic cup of tea that has a light liquor, a delicate taste, and a pleasantly memorable finish. The size of these curly leaves permits 4.6oz (130.5grams) to fit in the box, which yields roughly 43 cups at 21¢ per cup.

I enjoyed a cup of this this morning and it’s still on the mellower side. I wouldn’t suggest a 2nd infusion, however, as I found it to be a tad funky.

Nice flavor to this Ceylon. A very pleasant sweetness to it. It is smooth yet rustic. Somewhat astringent toward the finish… accompanied by a citrus-like tangy taste that seems to just “go with” the astringency. Some floral tones in the background. A very nice Ceylon, this is right along the lines of what I think of when I think of a Ceylon. A very mild, pleasant black tea – strong, not bitter, just a very nice cuppa.

I’ve liked the low-altitude Ceylon’s I’ve tried from this estate, but most seemed to lack the usual Ceylon floral profile. This, thankfully, had it…and then some. It’s a very pleasant, medium-bodied, morning cup.
