Pink Pearls

No rating as this is one of my own blends.

I added less jasmine pearls and more natural flavors with my recent batch.

It’s a great afternoon tea, especially iced. :)

I had this last night. It was in my box of rooibos/herbals/what-have-you so I thought it actually only had rooibos but it has jasmine pearls in it. Somehow I didn’t notice that before. Oh well, it didn’t destroy the balance of tea organization haha.

So after a quick change of temperature on the kettle, this was brewing and smelling nice and fruity.

The floral notes of jasmine are really good with the citrusy/berry fruit flavors. I don’t know really want the green rooibos adds because of the short steep time for the jasmine. I guess it’s okay to go for longer but I really would rather not have oversteeped green tea in here in order to get the taste of green rooibos. In which case, the other bit I have means…cold steep!

I purchased this from the lovely KeenTeaThyme who has a site on www.Teatr.de it is one of her personally created blends.

First, I mixed up the bag since much of the ingredents decided to seperate. After doing so I decided to steep it in my Gaiwan. The dry leaf smelled wonderful. The strongest scent was the bits of strawberry. I do love strawberry and this had a wonderfully juicy smell to it.

Once steeped I found the flavors to be nicely balanced. However, I was hoping for a stronger oolong flavor but it was to be expected that it wouldn’t since this blend did have a wide variety of ingredents. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant treat and I am glad I purchased it.

Delicious. Exquisite. Delicate. Forceful. Calming. I can’t really find the right words to describe this one. I received this tea in a swap with KiTT. (Thank you!) I must admit, I’ve been wanting to try this for some time now. I’m so happy that I’ve finally had that chance.

The scent is that of a typical jasmine green. It’s delicate, yet mysterious. I love jasmine. They are some of the best teas I’ve ever had. 175/1.5 min. Now, I can also smell something like berries. Strawberries. The taste is phenomenal! There’s definitely jasmine, even though it’s not the primary tea in there. I’d venture to say it’s the green rooibos. (By the way, either use a strainer with REALLY small holes, or try a teabag. I’m still brushing it out of my strainer…) I’m really not familiar enough with green rooibos to discern its flavor in a mixture. The strawberry is delicate, yet just about at the same level of the jasmine green. It’s really well done, a perfect balance. Bravo! (Maybe that’s the word I was looking for…)

Thanks to Keen Tea Thyme for a sample of her signature blend! It’s a slight variation she called “Wedding Pearls” made with white pearls for her friend’s wedding favors. This is just peachy keen, if you’ll forgive the pun. The peach flavoring is stronger than I’d expected. The first steep doesn’t have much jasmine but the next two steeps had a heady perfume like jasmine flavor, very high quality jasmine pearls.

I love the flexability in brewing time. Forgeting a tea while absorbed in a task is unavoidable. Although, I left one steep out for a few hours in 85 F heat and it fermented! I’ll have to remember that about long steeps with fruit or sugar.
Pink pearls is a great sweet-tooth tea.

Not my “cup of tea” but I do not like jasmine much. My sister thinks it is beautiful though and said it would make great gifts! I loved the pink pearls.
