Our Zhu Ye Qing(bamboo green) comes from the local farmer directly in Emei mountain area of Sichuan province; carefully-picked the fat single buds from tea tree, it enjoys very good, pleasing orchid aroma; delicate & sweet tea taste, which is a symbol of high mountain tea.

Zhu Ye Qing, literally means bamboo green, is becoming one of the most popular green tea in recent years. It is named by Chen Yi, the Foreign Minister at that time, went to Emei Mountain to conduct the inspection, and full of his praise went toward the tea when he played chess and drank tea with the old monk in Wannian Temple, he asked, “What kind of tea is this?” The old monk answered, “That tea is the special product of Emei Mountain, without a name yet.”, and asked Marshal Chen Yi to name the tea. Marshal Chen Yi looked carefully into the tea in cup: the tea water was clear and leaves were green, full of life, so he said heart-felt, “It’s really like the tender bamboo leaf, we can just call it zhu ye qing” (in phonetic Chinese “zhuyeqing”). Since then this tea is slowly becoming famous in China, not only for its legendary name, but also its mellow, sweet tea taste.

For me personally, this tea is a bit too light, but I am glad that I purchased this tea, because it is such a beautiful looking tea. It is very unlike any other tea that I have so far encountered.
