From JAS eTea

Kai Men Hong Tuo Cha is a specially-ordered, memorial Tuo Cha which was first produced in early 2006 to represent the Xiaguan Tea Factory success. Fine Spring Maocha was collected from the Lincang tea growing areas. During the processing, the tea was steamed using the Cang Er spring water; the use of this spring water is reported to lend a special characteristic that is highly desired. This tea is quite sweet and mellow in taste. It is carefully packed in the colorful red box which makes it a great choice to send as a tea gift to your friends. In addition to the nice appearance, the box can protect the tea from some odors that may be in the environment and help to protect the tea from big swings in humidity thus aiding in better storage.

Had this one late last night. It has some age on it and the tuocha reflects this in the color of the leaf. It brews an amber golden color. Darker than I thought for its age. It still has that smoky “bite” of the Xiaguan teas and comes across with a woody leather taste. I have only done 2 steeps so far and hopefully this will evolve away from the smokiness.
