I wasn’t sure if this was an actual tea for awhile. I looked it up finally and low and behold, its real! I was little awry about brewing because I wasn’t sure about spiced white. This is a very fruity tea. Its a strange kind of fruitless though, its spiced but yet sweet. This reminds me of a light apple cider. The white teas balances out the various flavors. i enjoyed brewing this and the aroma is very pleasing.

Cooking TTB #15

When I saw this on the list of teas in the TTB, I thought “I HAVE TO TRY THAT!!” I mean, who isn’t excited to try something called Spice White??? Then, as it was steeping, I thought “I’m so glad I’m trying this!!” Finally, after I took my first sip, I thought “I shouldn’t have tried this….”

Let me leave a disclaimer that strongly spiced citrus teas are about my least favorite teas…not that I can actually explain why. But, yeah…don’t love them. I didn’t expect the spice to be so not normal cinnamony. It was like some other source of spice I couldn’t quite identify. I’m not in love. I won’t rate it though since it’s my own fault.

From the Cooking TTB.

A pleasant, light white tea with strong citrus peel flavour. There’s a bit of a peachy note that sneaks in after the initial burst of orange zest, and just a hint of creaminess.

Pretty lovely actually, thought not at all what I’d expect from a tea named “Spice”.

Smells good. Kinda like the mulling spices used in apple cider. When things say spicy I think of jalapeños and chili powder, I tend to forget that cinnamon is also considered spicy. Especially to children. But this us truly a spicy white! It’s not spicy like your mouth is burning but you do get a little tingle on your tongue. There is a bit of a grassy flavor. It’s a good mix.
