The tea leaves for Matcha are shaded from the sun resulting in a brighter color and stronger taste. The processed leaves are ground like flour.
Matcha has a desirable sweetness not found in any other tea.

Tonight I made this into syrup and poured it over vanilla ice cream. SO good! My friend was licking it off the spoon. Really really good! And I didn’t even add in the suggested liqueur, Curacao.

How did you make it into a syrup? I sprinkle it over chocolate frozen yogurt. Yum!

I Tablespoon of matcha mixed with water into a smooth paste, then add to a simple sugar syrup. It was really easy!
